Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results Yesterday the Kiel Week ended with the medal races which were held in moderate winds. Tight decisions and a few changes of positions made for an entertaining day. With the win in the Medal Race of the 470s Men, Matthew Belcher / Will Ryan AUS managed to displace the previously sovereign Leader Anton Dahlberg / Frederik Bergström SWE and got the overall win. Bronze goes to Kevin Peponnet / Jérémy Mion FRA. There was also a change at the top of the 470s Women. Silvia Mas / Patricia Cantero ESP won the Medal Race and the overall ranking. Bozi / Klonaridou GRE and Böhm / Goliass GER finished 2nd and 3rd overall. In the 49er, Jonas Warrer / Jakob Precht claimed DEN defended their position at the top, followed by Alonso / Alonso ESP and Przybytek / Kolodzinski POL. Alexandra Maloney / Molly Meech NZL won the 49er FX event. Tina Lutz / Susann Beucke GER and Julia Gross / Hannah Klinga SWE follow in ranks 2 and 3. In the Finns Josh Junior NZL beat Anders Pedersen NOR. Ed Wright GBR had to settle for bronze. The the Nacra17 catamarans John Gimson / Anna Burnet GBR just held on to their first place overall followed by Jason Waterhouse / Lisa Darmanin AUS one point behind. Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results

 Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results In moderate winds, the medal races were sailed in Kiel yesterday. In the Laser Standard Philipp Buhl GER managed to move up to 1st overall. He was a bit lucky though, as the Jury forced Karl-Martin Rammö EST, who was sailing just ahead of him on the final meters of the medal race to two penalty turns. Elliot Hanson GBR finished 2nd overall, just one point behind. Filip Jurisic CRO, who won the Medal Race, moved up to 3rd. A change at the top of the leaderboard happened in the Laser Radial Women as well. Finishing only 10th, the sovereign leader Maxime Jonker NED had a medal race to forget and fell back to 4th overall. The victory went to Anne-Marie Rindom ahead of Line-Flem Höst NOR and Josefine Olsson SWE.

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 4 Strong winds delayed the regatta schedule yesterday, but in the afternoon the conditions were good enough to complete the qualifications for today's Medal Races. In the 470s men Dahlberg / Bergström SWE remain in the lead, but Belcher / Ryan AUS are now only 3 points behind. One of the two teams will probably win the series after today’s medal race, as Peponnet / Mion FRA are already 13 points behind. In the women's 470 Maria Bozi / Raffailina Klonaridou GRE have taken the lead and are going into the medal race with a 6 point’s margin over Skrzypulec / Ogar POL. There were no changes in the 49er where Warrer / Precht DEN managed to extend their lead 9 points with two daily wins. The Spanish boats Alonso / Alonso ESP and Botin / Lopez ESP follow in ranks 2 and 3. In the 49er FX Alexandra Maloney / Molly Meech NZL moved to the top. With only 4.5 points more Tina Lutz / Susann Beucke GER are still in the race for the overall victory as are Julia Gross / Hanna Kling SWE on rank 3. In the Finn Ed Wright GBR is back on the top, but Josh Junior NZL is just one point behind. 7 points is the margin of John Gimson / Anna Burnet GBR on Jason Waterhouse / Lisa Darmanin AUS in the Nacra 17 catamarans.  Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 4 On the 4th day of the Kieler Woche the fresh winds of around the 20knots were present again. With 2 further regattas, the qualifications for today's Medal Races have been completed. Elliot Hansen GBR defended his lead in the Laser Standard and is now 3 points ahead of Philipp Buhl GER. Tonci Stipanovic CRO is third, 18 points back. In the last two regattas of the Laser Radial women Maxime Jonker NED had to experience defeat for the first time this week. She is still leading overall, but is just one point ahead of Line-Flem Höst DEN. 4 points further back is Anne-Marie Rindom DEN who is also in with a shout for the overall victory after the medal races of today.

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 3 In moderate conditions all scheduled races could be sailed yesterday at the Kieler Woche. Today the qualifiers for the Medal Races of tomorrow will be completed. In the 470s it is tight at the top: Dahlberg / Bergström SWE lead just one point ahead of Patience / Grube GBR (yesterday with 2 race wins) and 2 more points ahead of Belcher / Ryan AUS. In the 470s Women the first 5 are separated by just 3 points. Bohm / Goliass GER are still leading, Mas / Cantero ESP and Bozi / Klonaridou GRE follow on equal points in 2nd and 3rd. In the 49er Warrer / Precht DEN took the lead, one-point lead of Alonso / Alonso ESP. New at the top of the 49erFX are now Dewi Couvert / Jeske Kisters NED, followed Alexandra Maloney / Molly Meech NZL. New Leader in Finn is Andy Maloney NZL, Ed Wright GBR and Josh Junior NZL are just one point behind. In the Nacra there are new leaders as well with John Gimson / Anna Burnett GBR four points ahead , of Jason Waterhouse / Lisa Darmanin in 2nd place All Leaderboards and the daily report.

 Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 3 The first two regattas of the final were held yesterday. In the Laser Standard . Elliot Hansen GBR is still leading, Philipp Buhl GER has advanced to second place, 4 points behind. Third is Olympic medalist Tonci Stipanovic CRO. In Laser Radial Women Maxime Jonker NED won all 3 races of her group and extended her lead to 4 points. Line-Flem Höst NOR has moved up to second, while Manami Doi JPN is third.  Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 Thunderstorms with strong winds disturbed the schedule of the races of the second day. After a break the races could only be started on late afternoon yesterday. In the 470s Dahlberg / Bergström SWE coped best with the difficult conditions and took the lead with 2 race wins , Belcher / Ryan AUS follow in 2nd, one point behind. New at the top of the 470s Women are Frederike Löwe / Anna Markfort GER, followed by Nadine Böhm / Ann-Christin Goliass GER who are 3 points behind. In the 49ers Diego Botin / Iago Lopez ESP moved to the lead in front of Mathieu Frei / Noël Delpech FRA. Chris Rast USA/SUI / Trevor Burd USA follow in rank 9. New at the top of the 49FX women are now Odile Van Aanholt / Marieke Jongens NED, followed by Tina Lutz / Susann Beucke GER who are just one point behind. There was only one race sailed in the Finns, thanks to the daily first yesterday Zsombor Beresz HUN moved up to second place. Ed Wright GBR is still in the lead in the overall ranking. Jason Waterhouse / Lisa Darmanin AUS are at the top of the Nacra ranking followed by John Gimson / Anna Burnett GBR 4 points behind. The prominent newcomers Nathan Outteridge/Haylee Outteridge AUS managed to finish 2nd and 3rd yesterday. After a collision on the starting day, they had to skip the first two races and are currently way back in the overall standings.

 Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 1 In moderate to strong winds (12-18kn) the Olympic Classes started their Kiel Week yesterday with a full programm of 2 to 3 races. First leaders in the 470er men are Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS with an almost perfect day (1/2). 2 points back Doi/Kimura JPN follow on 2nd. In the 470 women Nadine Böhm/Ann-Christin Goliass GER and 3 points behing Fabienne Oester/Anastasya Winkel GER are topping the rankings. After 3 races for the 49ers 4 teams are sharing the lead on equal points: Dunning/Gunn NZL, Fischer/Péquin FRA, Buksak/Wierzbicki POL and Frei/Delpech FRA. In the 49erFX Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA took over the lead followed by Maloney/Meech NZL two points back. Ed Wright GBR is on top of the Finn ahead of Tapio Nirkko FIN. In the Nacra-17-catamaran Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin AUS won all 3 races, Gemma Joes/Jason Saunders NZL and Riley Gibbs/Louisa Chafee USA are 2nd on equal points.  Laser - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 1 Good conditions with winds around 15kn on the first day of the Olympic part of the Kiel week allowed a full programm of two races for both Laser classes. In the Laser Standard Filip Jurisic CRO und Karl-Martin Rammo EST share the lead on equal points. Two points back Elliot Hanson GBR is on third.
In the Laser Radial Maxime Jonker NED won both races of her group, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN and Manami Doi JPN are completing the podium.

Various classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Part 1 - Final results

 Various classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Part 1 - Final results Yesterday, part one of the Kieler Woche for the international classes came to a close. With 31 points ahead, Matthias Berthet / Aleksander Franks NOR were clear winners of the 29er Eurocup. Much tighter was the final decision among the 505 : Quirk / Jess GER won, 2 points ahead of Köchlin / Achterberg GER. Christoph Homeier GER remained at the top of the Contenders, as did Lars-Johan Brodtkorb NOR at Europe class. Thanks to the victory in the last race, Lütke / Schäfers GER managed to win in the Flying Dutchman ahead of the tied Bojsen -Möller / Bojsen-Möller DEN. Stephan Fels / Ulf Hügel SUI again improved their ranking to 9. With an impressive 41 points lead Cesare Barambino ITA won the Laser 4.7 competition. Tytus Butowski POL won in the Laser Radial.
Due to an early start Gauthier Verhulst SUI dropped back to 9 th overall. From today onwards, the Laser Radial men will sail their World Cup. All other Leaderboards

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Part II - First races today Since the loss of its World Cup status the Kiel Week has become kind of a beer festival with sailing boats. Not this time though thanks to joint World Championships of the Olympic classes in Aarhus DEN which starts in 3 weeks time. The entry lists are full of
international talent of the top level in the Olympic sailing. Here all Entry lists. Of course we will report daily again. The result service is the only thing that really works on the event website. The wind forecasts promise fresh winds between 15 and 25kn for the rest of the week.

 Various classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 3 Today, the first part of the Kiel Week will come to a close. Apparently there were good sailing conditions again for further races yesterday. In the 29er Eurocup the first 5 races of the final were sailed in the Gold- and Silverfleet. Mathis Berthet / Aleksander Franks NOR continue to lead. In the 5o5er Wolfgang Hunger / Julien Kleiner GER moved up to the lead. Christian Homeier GER increased his lead to 10 points in the Contender. In the FD[/ URL], class, König / Brack GER held on to rank 1, followed by Bojsen-Möller / Bojsen- Möller DEN on rank 2. Stephan Fels / Ulf Hügel SUI improved to rank 10. With 4 race wins in a row, Lars-Jacob Brodtkorb NOR built on his lead in the [URL=manage2sail.com/en-US/event/kiwo18#!/results?classId=eur]Europes .
In the Laser 4.7, Cesare Barabino ITA is now 20 points ahead. There is a quadruple Polish lead with Tytus Butowski POL in 1st place in the Laser Radial(open). Gauthier Verhulst SUI as the best of the 10 competing Swiss moved up to 5th place. Jan Kurfeld GER leads the fleet of theOK-dinghy.  Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 Good conditions prevailed in Kiel yesterday. All classes sailed 4 to 5 races In the huge fleet of the 29ers, who sail the 3rd act of the Eurocup, Berthet/Franks NOR are on top. In the 5o5 Quirk/Jess GER and Köchlin/Achterberg GER share the lead on equal points. Christoph Homeier GER moved up to 1st in the Contender. Lars-Jacob Brodtkorb NOR is leading the Europes. After 4 races sailed König/Brack GER are Nr 1 in the Flying DutchmanD. Best of the 109 Laser 4.7 is Cesare Barabino ITA. In the Laser Radial (open) fleet Julian Hoffmann GER is the first leader.

Contender, Hobie 16, IRC - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 1

 Contender, Hobie 16, IRC - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 1 On the starting day of this year's Kiel Week apparently there was not much wind, just enough for one race for the Contender, the Hobie 16 and the big boats. Volker Niedeck GER was successful in the Contender and Jens Goritz/Kerstin Wichardt GER won the race in the Hobie 16 class. All other rankings. We couldn't find a daily report on the event website.

Kiel Week - Kiel GER - First races today

 Kiel Week - Kiel GER - First races today Part one of the Kiel Week starts today with the Eurocup of the 29er and the first races of the
5o5er, the Contender and the
Flying Dutchman. There are Swiss boats competing is in the 5o5ern and the FD regattas.
In part two of the Kiel Week (starting Wednesday) the Olympic classes will be in action. For once the fleets are quite large, as many teams use this event last training opportunity ahead of the World Championships of all Olympic classes in Aarhus in July - here all
Entry lists.
Highlights of this year’s edition are the World Championships of the Laser Radial Men and the European Championships of the Paralympic boat classes.
The event website which, despite its redesign, remains a nightmare to navigate this year again.
