 Olympic Worldcup - Olympic Classes Regatta - MiamiFL, USA - Final results, two podiums for the USA team and NorAms in 7 of the 10 events Light winds again during the second part of the Miami Olympic Classes Medal Races yesterday.

The North American participants finished the MOCR quite successfully with top-10 finishers in 7 of the 10 events, including two podiums with Paige Railey 2nd Laser Radial and Luke Muller 3rd Finn.

Here the summary concerning the overall results after the Sunday races:
No changes on the podium of the 470 men with Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP on top ahead of Dahlberg/Bergström SWE and Ichino/ Hasegawa JPN. The outcome in the 470 women however was very close, as the two German teams Frederike Löwe/Anna Markfort GER and Fabienne Oster/Anastasiya Winkel GER - new names on the top positions - were finally separated by 2 points only. Another 2 points back followed Oliveira/Barbachan BRA on 3rd.
Max Salminen SWE stayed in the lead of the Finns in front of the Medal Race winner Oskari Muhonen FIN who moved up on rank 2. Luke Muller USA finished 3rd.
In the Lasers Radial, the winner Dongshuang Zhang CHN controlled the 2nd-ranked Paige Railey USA, the only remaining opponent for victory, during the whole race, sailing her down the fleet.  Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2019 - Miami FL, USA - Final results Light conditions prevailed also on the final day of the Miami Olympic Classes Worldcup with excellent USA and CAN results in the Lasers.

In the Lasers Radial, Dongshuang Zhang CHN controlled Paige Railey USA, the only remaining opponent for victory, during the whole race, sailing her down the fleet. Vasileia Karachaliou GRE defended her 3rd place.
In the Lasers Standard, the outstanding winner Hermann Tomasgaard NOR was known long before. All he did was finish the Medal Race - on the last place - but his advantage remained nevertheless at 47 points (!). Sam Meech NZL solidly on rank 2 followed by the Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS on 3rd and Charlie Buckingham USA on 4th.

 Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2019 - Miami FL, USA - Day 5, 4 NorAms qualified for Medal Races The two Laser Classes concluded their quaifications with another two light-wind races yesterday, and the best North Americans before today's Medal Races with 4 of them qualified are:

- Laser (101 participants): 6th Charlie Buckingham USA, 28th Robert Davis CAN, 57th Yanic Gentry MEX
- Laser Radial (59 participants): 2nd Paige Railey USA, 6th Erika Reineke USA, 10th Sarah Douglas CAN, 57th Elena Oetling MEX

Here the overall situation:
Hermann Tomasgaard NOR extended his lead once more and has his Miami victory in the Laser Standard before today's Medal Race with a possibly record-breanking 65 point advantage. Sam Meech NZL is on a safe 2nd place as well as Tom Burton AUS on 3rd is 20 points back.
In the Lasers Radial, Dongshuang Zhang CHN is 12 points in front of Page Railey USA. Vasileia Karachaliou GRE has her 3rd place before the Medal Race for sure.

In the RS:X men windsurfers, Pawel Tarnowski POL has a 5 point lead on the tied duo Pierre Le Coq FRA and Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI. In the women windsurfers, Yunxiu LU CHN and Charline Picon FRA share the first place with Kathy Spychakow ISR on 2nd 2 points behind.
In the Nacra 17, the duel for victory will be between Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin AUS and Samuel Albrecht/Gabriela Nicolini BRA 4 points back. Santiago Lange/Cecilia Carranza ARG on 3rd are already 16 points behind.
In the 49ers, Erik Heil/Thomas Plössel GER have a solid 12 points' advantage on Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR. 12 points ahead of the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA are also Alexandra Maloney/Molly Meech NZL in the 49ersFX.
All other classes sail the last qualification series races today.
In the 470 men, Dahlberg/Östling SWE havew reclaimed the first place with a 4 point advantage on the tied Ichino/Hasegawa JPN and Xammar/Rodriguez ESP. In the 470 women, Fabienne Oster/Anastasyia Winkel GER are now on top ahead of Oliveira/Barbachan BRA and Mills/McIntyre GBR.

 Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2019 - Miami FL, USA - Day 4, top-10 interim ranks for Railey USA (1st), Douglas CAN (7th) and Buckingham USA (4th) The Laser Gold- and Silverfleet Final Series continued yesterday in light winds around 8kn with two more qualification races on the program today before the Medal Races of Sunday.

Herrmann Tomasgaard NOR demonstrated again his superiority in these conditions in the Lasers Standard, where his advantage on Sam Meech NZL has grown to a smashing 44 points. Another 18 points behind is Tom Burton AUS on rank 3.
In the Lasers Radial, Paige Railey USA is now on rank 1 with Dongshuang Zhang CHN and Anne-Marie Rindom DEN as first challengers.

Fresher winds filled in for the first time and all classes held 3 to 4 races catching up some what with the program. The Nacra 17, the Skiffs and the Windsurfers will complete their Qualification Series today in view of the Medal races of tomorrow.

New leaders in the 49ers, thanks to two race wins, are Erik Heil/Thomas Plössel GER. Fletcher/Bithell GBR and Fantela/Fantela CRO follow on ranks 2 and 3. In the 49ersFX, Alexandra Maloney/Molly Meech NZL are now 5 points in front of Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR. Victoria Jurczol/Anika Lorenz GER progressed on the 3rd place.
McNay/Hughes USA have now taken the lead in the 470 Men tied with Dahlberg/Bergström SWE. On the 3rd place follow Ichino/Hasegawa JPN. In the 470
Women, Skrzypulec/Ogar POL defended their lead ahead of Mills/McIntyre GBR and Oster/Winkel GER.

 Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2019 - Miami FL, USA - Day 3, five NorAm Lasers in top-10 The Lasers Standard started yesterday to the Final Series races split in Gold- and Silverfleet.
Herrmann Tomasgaard NOR finished on top ranks in all three heats and extended his lead on Sam Meech NZL to 21 points. William De Smet BEL keeps the 3rd position. Top results by the two US Laser sailors Chris Barnard on 4th and Charlie Buckingham on 5th. Robert Davis CAN is 33rd, Yanic Gentry MEX 55th.
In the Laser Radial, Alison Young GBR is the new leader 2 points ahead of Paige Railey USA on 2nd. Dongfeng Shuang CHN follows on 3rd. Erika Reineke USA on 7th and Sarah Douglas CAN on 10th made big steps forward and have good chances to qualify for the Medal Race. Elena Oetling MEX is 54th.

In the RS:X windsurfers, the Chinese light-wind specialists have taken the lead. Mengfan Gao CHN is first in the Men and Yunxiu Lu CHN in the Women.
In the Finns, Tapio Nirkko FIN moved on top one point ahead of the day's winner Anders Pedersen NOR on 2nd and Jonathan Lobert FRA new on 3rd.
Thanks to a race win in the only heat of the day, Nevin Snow/Max Agnese USA are the new leaders in the 49ers one point in front of Fantela/ Fantela CRO. In the 49erFX, Alexandra Maloney/Molly Meech NZL defended their lead with a considerable 11 point advantage on Sophie Weguelin/Sophie Ainsworth GBR.
In the Nacra 17, Samuel Albrecht/Gabriela Nicolino BRA extended their lead on Waterhouse/Darmanin AUS and the Olympic Champions Lange/Carranza ARG tied on the ranks 2 and 3.

 Laser - Olympic Worldcup 2019 - Miami FL, USA - Day 2, Barnard USA Men and Dewey CAN and Railey USA Women in top-10/ The Lasers Standard completed two races yesterday in light winds and terminated the qualification series to separate in Gold- and Silverfleets.
Leading after four heats is Herrmann Tomasgard NOR 3 points ahead of Sam Meech NZL. William De Smet BEL moved up on rank 3.
The Radial held only one race with Monika Mikkola FIN advancing on rank 1 thanks to the race win tied with Alison Young GBR. Only one point behind is Zoe Thomson AUS on the 3rd place.

 Olympic Worldcup - Olympic Classes Regatta - Miami FL, USA In five days, racing will begin at the 2019 Hempel World Cup Series Miami. The United States has a large and talented collection of sailors competing at the second World Cup event of the 2019 series, including 57 entries and 85 total sailors. The top eligible U.S. athlete(s) who finish in 10th place or higher in their class at the HWCSM will also qualify for selection to the 2019 US Sailing Team.
