RS:X-Windsurfing - European Championship 2020 - Vilamoura POR - Gold for Charline Picon FRA and Yoav Cohen ISR

 RS:X-Windsurfing - European Championship 2020 - Vilamoura POR - Gold for Charline Picon FRA and Yoav Cohen ISR After a windless Friday, the RS:X Europeans in Vilamoura POR were concluded yesterday with the Medal Races. ----- With another victory, Charline Picon FRA once again demonstrated her superiority and won the women's title ahead of Katy Spychakov ISR and Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL. Demita Vega MEX finished 24th among 31 participants. ----- In the men's race, Yoav Cohen ISR was able to maintain his lead, Shahar Zubari ISR took silver, Kiran Badloe NED advanced to 3rd place thanks to his victory in the Medal Race. ----- Pedro Pascual Suitt USA terminated the Championship in 33rd, Ignacio Berenguer MEX in 35th out of 43 participants. ----- The last Nations Tokyo Olympic berths went to Greece for the men and Russia for the women. ----- All rankings and the video of the final day.  RS:X-Windsurfing - European Championship 2020 - Vilamoura POR - Day 3 - Charline Picon FRA and Yoav Cohen ISR still top Yesterday in Vilamoura, the participants had to wait for wind until 15h. After that, it refreshed quickly to 16kn, in the peaks up to 20kn, and again three runs could be sailed. ----- The bigger, heavier participants benefited from the conditions, especially world champion Kiran Badloe NED, who moved up to 4th place in the men's follows in 3rd place.  RS:X-Windsurfing - European Championship 2020 - Vilamoura POR - Day 2 - no progress for North Americans A rain front brought fresh winds and big waves to Vilamoura yesterday. Three races were sailed in both fleets. ----- With two race wins, Charline Picon FRA was again strong and now leads Katy Spychakov ISR with 7 points. Emma Wilson GBR moved up to 3rd place. Demita Vega MEX is 25th. ----- In the RS:X men, Yoav Cohen ISR was able to maintain his lead. Yoav Omer ISR advanced to 2nd place. With three races held in light and shifting winds, the RS:X European Windsurfing Championship kicked off yesterday in Portugal. This is the first benchmark for the Olympic windsurfers since the world championships in Australia in February. ----- Yoav Cohen ISR took the lead in the men's event, only one point ahead of Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI in 2nd. Matteo Camboni ITA follows in third place. World Champion Kiran Badloe NED had a rather moderate start in 13th place. ----- Ignacio Berenguer MEX is 31st, Pedro Pascual Suitt USA 37th. ----- On the women's side, the favourites have already taken the lead: Olympic champion Charline Picon FRA leads with 3 points ahead of Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL.  RS:X-Windsurfing - European Championship 2020 - Vilamoura POR, with North American participants In the south of Portugal, the European Championships of the Olympic windsurfers start today.
