The IRC class bigboat duel remains tight, as after the two wins of Sir Lindsay Owen Jones Wally Cento 'Magic Carpet 3', it was the Reichel Pugh 83 foot one off 'Vera' of Miguel Galiccio ITA (with Bouwe Bekking NED as strategist) who won the second windward-leeward yesterday. ---- Position changes in the TP52 where Tina Plattner GER/RSA on 'Phoenix' is now on top one point ahead of 'Quantum Racing' of Doug Devos USA (with Ed Baird USA). 'Platoon' of Harm Müller Spreer GER and 'Alegre' with Sebastian Tenghage MON on 3rd and 4th are 4 points behind the leader. The ten strong TP52 fleet are in full dress rehearsal mode, preparing for the start of the 52 Super Series in Mahon, Menorca next weekend. ---- 'Lagertha' USA, the Swan 42CS of Kurt Kalberer NYYC is 13th among the 21 ORC1 division yachts. ---- All 110 boats, split in 13 ORC and One Design Classes were racing on Palma Bay on the second day of the 16th PalmaVela yesterday.
