By 4 o'clock Monday morning EDT, 14 boats had crossed the finish line of the 93rd edition of the Bayview - Mackinac Race, one of the most competitive freshwater races afloat with a distance of 219nm. ----- 'Heartbreaker', the TP52 of Robert Hughes, Macatawa Bay Yacht Club, from Ada, MI took the line honors on late Sunday afternoon after 27h 56min underway. The TP52s 'Mockingbird' of Chris Duhon, Chicago Il, and 'Callisto' of Jim and Kate Murray, Lake Bluff Il followed over one hour behind. ----- In corrected time, 'Heartbreaker' is on top too, ahead of 'Evolution', the Santa Cruz 70 of Chris Saxton, Plymouth, MI and 'Ohana', also a Santa Cruz 70 of Tor Hough - Lake Orion, MI. ----- 103 boats split into 12 classes are racing. ----- The race tracker, the ranking list in progress, and the event website with all details. ----- Congrats go to Chris Clark and his team from the Bay View YC, who made this race possible in spite of several obstacles in these difficult Corona times and of course also to the 103 teams participating bringing great sail-racing back.
