After the dramatic rescue action of Kevin Escoffier FRA, whose Open 60 folded up on a wave in front of the mast at 27 knots, collapsed and sank within minutes, the race returned to normal. Charlie Dalin FRA ('Apivia', Foiler) continues to lead with now 222nm ahead of Thomas Ruyant FRA ('LinkedOut', Foiler), who passed the Cape of Good Hope yesterday as 2nd. Louis Burton FRA ('La Vallée', Foiler), the southernmost boat on rank 3, continues to make the fastest progress already sailing in the Indian Ocean. He was 259nm behind this morning UTC, followed by a densely packed chasing group, ranks 4-11, being only 150nm apart, lead by Sébastien Simon FRA ('Arkea Paprec', Foiler) on 4th with a 413nm backlog. Boris Herrmann GER ('SeaExplorer', Foiler) follows in 5th place 30nm behind, closely followed by Damien Séguin FRA ('Groupe Apicil', Non-Foiler) 3nm back as best Non-Foiler. Jean Le Cam FRA ('Yes we Cam', Non-Foiler) has dropped back to 7th place due to his rescue action, but he will receive a time credit which will bring him back into the top 3. In the women's duel, Samantha Davis GBR ('Initiatives Coeur'Foiler) is 11th, now 33nm ahead of Isabelle Joschke GER/FRA ('MACSF', Foiler). ----- The race tracker and the reports.
