IMOCA Open 60 Vendee Globe Day 53 two more days left to the Cape
Two more days for the leaders until Cape Horn! The fresh winds in the South Pacific continue to provide for high speeds, and the leading Yannik Bestaven FRA ('Maître Coq') is underway with almost 20kn average speed extending the advantage. The only one who could keep up yesterday was Charlie Dalin FRA ('Apivia') on 2nd place 107nm behind. Excellent performance of Damien Séguin FRA ('Groupe Apicil', Non-Foiler) in 3rd place, 270nm back, who could break away from the chasing group. Thomas Ruyant FRA ('LinkedOut') in 4th place is already 327nm behind. The rest of the chasing pack (ranks 5-11) continues to sail close together, and further position changes until Cape Horn are very likely. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
