 IMOCA Open 60  Vendee Globe  Les Sables d'Olonne  Day 96  five arrivals during the past 24 hours
No less than 5 participants reached the finish in Les Sables d'Olonne yesterday after a freezing night. ----- Arnaud Boissières FRA (La Mie Câline) crossed the line in 15th place already in the morning, making him the first-ever to complete four Vendée Globe circumnavigations. Just over 2 hours later, Kojiro Shiraishi JPN (DMG Mori) became the first Asian to finish the Vendée Globe. In the afternoon, Alan Roura SUI (La Fabrique) arrived in Les Sables - at the age of 27 already his second round-the-world race! He won the match race against Stéphane Le Diraison FRA (Time for Oceans) by 2 hours. In the past night, Pip Hare GBR (Medallia) was the first Englishwoman to terminate the race. ----- Now, six competitors plus Sam Davies GBR and Isabelle Joschke FRA/GER sailing out of competition remain on the Atlantic. At the very end of the field, Alexa Barrier FRA (TSE For my planet) and Ari Huusela FIN (Stark) crossed the equator tonight and will be underway for about two more weeks. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
