The last day of the Sylt PWA-Grand Slam ended with a tight final duel in the Freestyle competition. The defending champion Jose 'Gollito' Estredo VEN had finally the upper hand on the previously leading Amando De Vrieswijk NED and replaced him with this victory on top of the annual rankings.

Varying unpredictable winds delayed the program on Sylt GER yesterday and only late in the afternoon, the 4th and crucial race of the PWA Slalom Worldcup could be sailed. Gonzalo Costa ARG was the winner ahead of Matteo Iachino ITA, who extended herewith his lead in the overall annual rankings. More on the PWA website.

Yesterday was the PWA Slalom specialists turn, but the suitable winds with 15 kn prevailed only for a few hours allowing 12 runs. Matteo Iachino ITA performed again well and qualified for the Final. The heavy-weight defending World Champion Antoine Albeau FRA was not at ease in these conditions and dropped on the unusual 19th rank.

The 20 kn breeze on Sylt yesterday was perfect for the Freestylers to start the Double Elimination with the best five starting to the final runs today to decide on the winner. In the interim's rankings, Amado Vrieswijk NED leads ahead of José Estredo VEN.

Yesterday, the Slalom Specialists among the Professional Windsurfer joined the competition on Sylt GER. The Tour leaders Matteo Iachino ITA and Pierre Mortefon FRA are duelling for the World Champion's title with Matteo Iachino ITA as winner of yesterdays First Elimiation. Mortefon FRA had to content himself with rank 5. For today, a fresh breeze around 20 kn has been announced and all disciplines will be able to compete.

After two calm days, the wind filled in over Sylt GER with 15-25 kn and the Freestylers completed their First Elimination. In the Final, Amado Vrieswijk NED (Bonaire), age 20, defeated the defending champion José Gollito Estredo VEN extending his lead in the annual rankings. Gollito VEN has now to hope for sufficient wind in the Double Elimination and a top performance to beat Vrieswijk twice in order to defend his World Champion's title. For today, moderate Eastwinds have been forecast. In addition to the Freestylers, the Slalom Specialists should join the competitionn.

As on Saturday, the wind was missing yesterday on Sylt. The sunny Indian Summer day invited nevertheless thousands of spectators to enjoy a day on the island. Up to now, only the Wave specialists completed a Frist Elimination round with Iballa Moreno ESP as first in the Women and Alex Mussolini ESP in the Men.

Good conditions prevailed on the first day of the PWA Final on Sylt GER. The Men and Women Wave Specialists opened the event finishing the first Single Elimination. Once more, the Moreno ESP sisters met in the final with Iballa Morena ESP having the upper hand on Daida. Winner in the Men's category was Alex Mussolini ESP defeating Thomas Traversa FRA.
