The duel in the 470 men between Anton Dahlberg/Frederik Bergström SWE and Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS was decided on the starting line, when the Swedes erroneously returned after an alleged premature start letting the Australians go. This is the seventh World Champion's title for Matthew Belcher AUS l ! David Bargehr/Lukas Mähr AUT on 3rd won the first 470 Worlds medal for Austria. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA, rank 8 in the Medal Race, finished the Championship on the 7th place.
In the 470 women, Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Irmina Mrozek POL had no difficulty to manage the big points' advantage and a 7th rank in the Medal Race was good enough to clearly win the Worlds' title. Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR earned Silver, Tina Mrak/Veronika Macarol SLO defended their 3rd place an took Bronze.

 470 - World Championship 2017 - Thessaloniki GRE - Day 6, McNay/Hughes USA 6th 12-14 kn, the freshest breeze so far at the 470 Worlds in Thessaloniki GRE, was blowing during the last three qualification races for the Medal Races of today.
Anton Dahlberg/Frederik Bergström SWE and Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS definitely have their 470 men Medals. Separated by one point only, a match between the two will decide on the Worlds title. Whoever finishes ahead will take Gold. David Bargehr/Lukas Mähr AUT on 3rd have an 8 points' lead on Deniz Cinar/Ates Cinar TUR and Bronze is not far away. McNay/Hughes USA start to the last race from the 6th place at equal points with the 5th. Calabrese/Mac Diarmid USA are 29th in the final rankings, Rogers/Parkin USA 42nd.
In the 470 women, Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Irmina Mrozek POL are about to win their first World Champions' title as they start to the Medal Race with a solid 16 points' advantage on the Olympic Champion Hannah Mills GBR with her new crew Eilidh McIntyre GBR. Six points farther back follow Tina Mrak/Veronika Macarol SLO, who will have to defend Bronze against Afrodite Zegers/Anneloes Van Veen NED 5 points behind.

 470 - World Championship 2017 - Thessaloniki GRE - Day 5, McNay/Hughes USA 7th Yesterday, the seabreeze filled in only late and very light at the 470 World Championship in Greece, allowing to sail just one race.
In the 470 women, Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Irmina Mrozek POL added another top-3 rank to their results' sheet and extended their lead on 16 pointsa. Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR remained on rank2, Tina Mrak/Veronika Macarol SLO follow 3 points behind on the 3rd place.
In the 470 men, Anton Dahlberg/Fredrik Bergström SWE sailed their discard result, an 18th place, but they clearly remain on top with an 8 points' advantage on David Bargehr/Lukas Mähr AUT. Belcher/Ryan AUS follow closely behind on the 3rd position. Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA on the 7th overall place have an 11 points margin on rank 11 and are in a good position to qualify for the Medal Race at the end of the day.

 470 - World Championship 2017 - Thessaloniki GRE - Day 4, McNay/Hughes USA down on 10th Light winds between 6 and 8 kn prevailed yesterday in Thessaloniki during the first two Final races s sailed in Gold- and Silverfleets.
Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI were the team of the day winning both heats of the 470 women and advancing on rank 5 overall. Skrzypulec/Mrozek POL defended the first position ahead of Mills/McIntyre GBR and Mrak/Makarol SLO on the ranks 2 and 3.
No change on top of the 470 men with Dahlberg/Bergström SWE on 1st with a 6 points' advantage on Belcher/Ryan AUS. Another point back follow Bargehr/Mähr AUT. It was not the day of Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA finishing twice on rank 15 relegating them on rank 10 overall.

 470 - World Championship 2017 - Thessaloniki GRE - Day 2, McNay/Hughes (5th) and Calabrese/Diarmid (48th) made the Goldfleet The Qualification Series were concluded yesterday with two races. The best 36 men's teams qualify for the Goldfleet, in the women's, the cut is at position 30.
Hanna Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR defended their lead on top of the 470 women with the day ranks 2 and 5. Tina Mrak/Veronika Macarol SLO - in their first race since the Rio Olympics - follow on the second place with a 2 points' backlog. The best of the day Skrzypulec/Mrozek POL advanced on the 3rd polisition. McNay/Hughes USA are in the 5th rank, 7 points behind Silver. Lucas Calabrese/Ian Diarmid USA on rank 28 just made the Goldfleet.
In the 470 men, Anton Dahlberg/frederik Östling SWE extended their lead with the day ranks 1 and 3. For the Swedes, this is the first major regatta since the Rio Games. Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS follow on the 2nd rank at equal points with David Bargehr/Lukas Mähr AUT. The French development team Hippolyte Macchetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA is on the 4th place.

Interim's leaders in the 470 men are Dahlberg/Bergström SWE with the ranks 1/2/1 in their group ahead of Belcher/Ryan AUS and Cinar/Cinar TUR at equal points.
Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR won all three races in their 470 women group. Mrak/Macarol SLO are 2nd, closely followed by Wang/Gao CHN. McNay/Hugues USA are 4th as best Americans.

 470 - World Championship 2017 - Thessaloniki GRE - Start today, with three USA 470 men teams The 470 World Championship 2017 begins today in Thessaloniki GRE, where hot temperatures up to 40° C (104° F) and a moderate seabreeze have been forecast.
61 women's teams from 26 nations and 5 continents are on the entry list, without North American participation
77 men's teams from 29 nations and 5 continents participate with Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS as major favorites, but also Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA will have a say. Lucas Calabrese/Ian McDiarmid USA and the World Sailing Youth Champions Wiley Rodgers/Jack Parkin USA complete the USA delegation.
