Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Final results - Gold for Max Salminen SWE, Ramshaw CAN 22nd, Muller USA 36th

 Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Final results - Gold for Max Salminen SWE, Ramshaw CAN 22nd, Muller USA 36th The Medal Race of the Finn World Championship on the Balaton, sailed in light winds, was much disputed yesterday. Max Salminen SWE saved just one point of his advantage and won his first World Champion's title ahead of Jonathan Lobert FRA. Nicholas Heiner NED finished first in the Medal Race and moved up on rank 3 overall, relegating Ed Wright GBR at equal points on rank 4. Tom Ramshaw CAN is 22nd, Luke Muller USA 36th in the 113 boat's fleet.

 Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Day 6, Ramshaw CAN 29th, Muller USA 35th The 118 participants in the Finn-Worlds waited in vain for wind yesterday and the Friday rankings count for today's Medal Race qualification. Max Salminen SWE has a 7 points' lead on Ed Wright GBR and Jonathan Lobert FRA. A small chance for a Medal have also Nicholas Heiner NED (10 pts behind rank 2) and Zsombor Beresz HUN (11 pts). Tom Ramshaw CAN is 29th, Luke Muller USA 35th.

 Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Day 6, Ramshaw CAN 29th, Muller USA 35th Calms over the Balaton yesterday and racing was suspended. Up to three races are on the program today and on Sunday, the Medal Race will be held. Max Salminen SWE leads after 7 races with a 7 points' advantage on Ed Wright GBR and Jonathan Lobert FRA. Tom Ramshaw CAN is 29th, Luke Muller USA 35th.

 Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Day 5, Ramshaw CAN 29th, Muller USA 35th The wind was late yesterday on the Balatoin and only towards the evening, one race could be sailed in a 14 to 16 kn breeze. Finishing 5th, Max Salminen SWE defended the first place 7 points ahead of Ed Wright GBR and Jonathan Lobert FRA tied on the ranks 2 and 3. Jorge Zarif BRA, up to now down in the overall ranks, was the winner and moved up on the 15th place. Tom Ramshaw CAN is 29th, Luke Muller USA 35th.

 Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Day 3, Muller USA 28th, Ramshaw CAN 32nd Lake-like conditions prevailed on the Balaton during the third day of the Finn Worlds yesterday with light and variable winds around 8 kn. Only a few athletes sailed two good results, among them the new leader Max Salminen SWE, finishing twice as 6th, taking the overall lead 4 points ahead of Ed Wright GBR. As best of the day, ranks 1 and 3, Nicholas Heiner NED advanced on the 3rd place, at equal points with Jonathan Lobert FRA on 4th. Luke Muller USA is 28th, Tom Ramshaw CAN 32nd.

 Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Day 2, Ramshaw CAN 19th, Muller USA 21st Two more races were sailed at the Finn Worlds on the Balaton yesterday, again in a 10-14 kn wind varying in velocity and direction.
Jonatan Lobert FRA (ranks 2 and 9 yesterday) is the new leader 4 points ahead of Max Salminen SWE 2. Junior Facundo Olezza ARG, best of the day (3/4), moved up on rank 3. Tom Ramshaw CAN is 19th, Luke Muller USA 21st

 Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Day 1, Ramshaw CAN 29th, Muller USA 39th Variable winds between 6 and 15 kn prevailed on the Balaton and made sailing challenging. Two races were completed with Nenad Bugarin CRO, day ranks 1 and 4, as interim's leader, 4 points ahead of Zsombor Beresz HUN.  Finn - Gold Cup 2017 - Balatonföldvar HUN - Start today with USA and CAN participants The Finn Gold Cup, the official World Championship of the Olympic Finn Class, begins today on Lake Balaton HUN at 10 a.m. UTC. 117 participants from 35 nations are on the entry list, among them two Finn sailors from the USA and two from Canada.
