Nacra 17 - World Championship 2017 - La Grande Motte FRA - Day 1

Nacra 17 - World Championship 2017 - La Grande Motte FRA - Day 1 The Nacra-17 Class shaken with material problems began the 2017 World Championship on the Mediterranean Sea yesterday. The foiling catamarans were all called back by the shipyard four weeks ago to reinforce the daggerboard fixations for higher loads. Four days ago, another severe accident happened during the Championship trainings with Bora Gulari USA - double Moth World Champion and helmsman of the TP52 'Quantum' - who lost parts of four fingers in a capsize. And the material discussions continued yesterday, when Riley Gibbs/Louisa Chafee USA, the dominators of day one (ranks 2/1/1 in their group) were disqualified after a measurement protest.
John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR are the interim's leaders ahead of Ben Saxton/Katie Dabson GBR and Gemma Jones/Jason Saunders NZL. The ranking list and the daily news.
