Olympic Classes - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - reduced on Lasers and Windsurfers - seven USA/CAN participants enrolled

Olympic Classes - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - reduced on Lasers and Windsurfers - seven USA/CAN participants enrolled Today is the first day of the traditional Semaine Olympique Française (SOF) in Hyères FRA, this year without being sanctioned as a World Sailing Worldcup event. In between the inaugural Genoa Worldcup event, squeezed in by World Sailing in early April, and the Worldcup Final in Marseille in July, the SOF was sacrificed by the innocent administrators in London to avoid a concentration of three WC events in Southern Europe within a few weeks. Result was, that none of these two Olympic Classes events organised so far have been considered by the full Olympic elite. The consequence for the 2019 SOF is, that only four of the ten Olympic events, the the Lasers and the RS:X windsurfers, have a sufficient attention to start racing. Here the entry lists. --- The North American delegation consists of Paige Railey USA and Coralie Vittecoq CAN in the 50-boat Laser Radial fleet, as well as Christopher Barnard USA, Nicolas Bezy USA, Charlie Buckingham USA, Paul Didham USA and Malcolm Lamphere USA in the 69-boat Lasers Standard. No entrants in the RS:X windsurfers. --- The event website.
