 Surprise - 5 Days on the Swiss Lake Geneva - Final Results -  Eric Monnin SUI/Ute Wagner AUT winners After five days - 120 hours non-stop without outside assistance -, the World Matchracing Number One Eric Monnin SUI, together with Ute Wagner AUT finished as clear winners of the 2020 Lake Geneva 5-day-race, having covered 416nm mostly in light winds. Loic Forestier/Bruno Engel SUI followed 10nm behind on rank 2. Daniel Bouwmeester/Gaetan Van Campenhoudt SUI completed the podium with only 2nm less sailed as the second-ranked. 39 one-design Surprise yachts completed the race, and only one boat was forced to abandon. The ranking list in distance sailed. ----- A Points ranking list has been established as well adding up the positions when passing the starting line off Vidy (just nearby the IOC Headquarters) in every round. Olivier Légeret/Denis Girardet SUI are the points winners tied with Felix Oberle/Mayeul van den Broek SUI. ----- This two-person long-distance race rounding Lake Geneva in circles for five days has been run annually since 1993 with many two-person-mixed teams ever since. No new invention by World Sailing necessary to promote women's sailing to please the IOC, no need to create an expensive event for the Olympic Games!  Lake Geneva Five-Day-Race - CV Vidy - Start today Today by noon, 40 teams will depart for the 5-Day-Race on the Swiss Lake Geneva, arguably the longest non-stop race on inshore water world-wide. The start will be given off the Cercle de la Voile de Vidy Lausanne near the IOC Headquarters and the boats will be underway during 120 hours non-stop, without outside assistance. ----- Former winners, record holders, local heroes, as well as newcomers and some international teams make this Corona edition a top-attended one. ----- The race can be followed live via GPS-tracking. ----- The preview.
