49er & 49erFX - European Championship 2018 - Gdynia POL - Day 3

Difficult sailing conditions, with light winds and waves prevailed yesterday to complete the qualifiers at the joint European Championships of the two Olympic skiff classes. The 49ers had a little more wind in the morning. With around 8 knots all 3 races were completed. But there were numerous OCS disqualifications. Lukasz Przybitek / Pawel Kolodzinski POL are still in the lead, but Diego Botin / Jago Lopez ESP who had two daily firsts yesterday moved up and are now just one point behind in second place. Yago and Klaus Lange ARG follow in 3 rd, 10 points behind. Fourth are Justus Schmidt / Max Böhme GER a further point back.
The 49erFX had to sail in the afternoon when the wind dropped to 5 knots. In these conditions only one race was completed. Helene Naess / Marie Ronningen NOR defended their lead, Sophie Weguelin and Sophie Ainsworth GBR are 2 nd, 6 points behind, Carla Munte and Marta Munte ESP and Stephanie Roble / Margaret Shea USA are tied in 3 rd, just two points behind the English girls.
