Olympic Classes World Ranking Lists 27th April 2019, a dozen NorAm teams well positioned
The World Sailing Ranking Lists have been updated after the Trofeo Princesa Sofia and the Genoa Worldcup event as well as the Congressional Cup. --- Ian Williams GBR has reclaimed rank 1 in the latest Matchracing Ranking List replacing Eric Monnin SUI on top. Harry Price (AUS) now in third. Chris Poole USA on the 13th place is the best North American. --- No change in the women where Pauline Courtois FRA consolidated her first position ahead of Trine Palludan DEN new on 2nd replacing Anne Oestling SWE now on 3rd. The 8th-ranked Nicole Breault USA is the best North American. --- The Fleetracing Ranking Lists have no previous rankings mentioned in most classes, and a World Sailing report ist missing as well. Nations rankings, presented formerly, are not available either. Therefore, we refrain from commenting on modifications right now. --- Interesting to see, that the top ranks in fleetracing are occupied by 9 different nations from 4 continents: GBR, FRA, ITA, NED(2) from Europe, CHN and JPN from Asia, NZL and AUS(2) from Oceania and BRA from South America. Contrary to most Olympic sports, sailing is truly global. --- The best-ranked North Americans are in the 470men Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA 5th, in the Lasers Standard Charlie Buckingham USA 12th, Chris Barnard USA 19th, in the Lasers Radial Paige Railey USA 4th, Erika Reineke USA 12th, Sarah Douglas CAN 15th, in the Finns Tom Ramshaw CAN 8th, Luke Muller USA 23rd, in the 49ersFX Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA 12th and in the Nacra-17 Riley Gibbs/Anna Weis USA 14th. --- All ranking lists.
