Laser Radial - Men's & Women's World Championship 2017 - Medemblik NED - Final results - Bouwmeester NED and Rudawski POL Gold - Brenda Bowskill CAN 5th, Erika Reineke USA 29th

 Laser Radial - Men's & Women's World Championship 2017 - Medemblik NED - Final results - Bouwmeester NED and Rudawski POL Gold - Brenda Bowskill CAN 5th, Erika Reineke USA 29th Calms prevailed on the last day of the Laser Radial World Championship on the Ijssel-Meer and the Medal Race as well as the Sail-offs were cancelled.
After a more decent than start, the Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED came back convincingly on her home waters and clearly won the World Champions' title. Silver and Bronze went to Evi Van Acker BEL and Manami Doi JPN. Brenda Bowskill CAN is 5th, Erika Reineke USA 29th among the 100 pariicipants.
In the Men's fleet, Marcin Rudawski POL earned another title ahead of the neo-Swiss Eliot Merceron SUI, who normally sails the Laser Standard. On rank 3 followed Zac Littlewood AUS. James Liebl USA is 39th.

 Laser Radial - Men's & Women's World Championship 2017 - Medemblik NED - Day 5, Bowskill CAN 5th, Reinecke USA 29th Two races were completed again on the Ijssel-Meer yesterday at the Laser Radial Worlds and today, last day of the event, two more races are on the program.
In the Women's, the favorite and day's best Marit Bouwmeester NED has taken the overall lead, thanks of the second disarded result. But the 'eternal rival' Evi Van Acker BEL 9 points behind still has chance for the title. Manami DOI JPN is on a good way to Bronze, as the 4th-ranked Mathilde de Kerangat FRA is 20 points behind the Japanese. Brenda Bowskill CAN is 5th, Erika Reineke USA 29th among the 100 pariicipants.
In the Men's fleet, Marcin Rudawski POL keeps a 9 points' advantage before the last races today. Eliot Merceron SUI, again best of the day with the ranks 2 and 4, moved up on the 2nd place. Zac Littlewood AUS follows as 3rd. Maxime Mazard FRA on rank 4 still has an option for a Medal. James Liebl USA is 39th.

 Laser Radial - Men's & Women's World Championship 2017 - Medemblik NED - Day 4, Brenda Bowskill CAN now 6th The Qualification Series for the Laser Radial Women's Goldfleet were concluded yesterday with two races sailed in a moderate wind around 10 kn. The men's fleet continues the World Championship in one fleet.
Finishing twice on third, Evi Van Acker BEL has taken the overall lead followed by Marit Bouwmeester NED, best of the day with two race wins, on rank 2 with a 14 points' backlog on the leader. Manami Doi JPN is now on rank 3. Mathilde de Kerangat FRA and Svenja Weger GER occupy the ranks 4 and 5. Brenda Bowskill CAN sailed her discard result (rank 45) yesterday, but coming back with an 11th, she stays on the 6th interims' position before the 4-race-finals and the Medal Race. Erika Reineke USA coming from behind is now 19th but still 30 points behind the Medal Race cut. Qualified for the Goldfleet are also Sarah Douglas CAN, Isabelle Bertold CAN and Haddon Hughes USA.
Marcin Rudawski POL defended his first position in the Radial Men with a 4 points' lead on Maxime Mazard FRA on the 2nd place. The best of the day Zac Littlewood AUS (ranks 1 and 3) advanced on the 3rd place overall. A race win also for Eliot Merceron SUI moving up on the 4th position with a 15 points' deficit on the 3rd place and options for a Medal. James Liebl USA on rank 40 is now the best of 3 North American.

 Laser Radial - Men's & Women's World Championship 2017 - Medemblik NED - Day 3, Brenda Bowskill CAN 4th With 12 kn, the breeze on the Ijssel-Meer was fresher than on the previous days and the experienced teams dominated the fleets.
In the Olympic Women Lasers Radial, Manami Doi JPN and Evi Van Acker BEL share now the overall lead one point ahead of Svenja Weger GER, who won both races of her Group yesterday. In the second Group, Marit Bouwmeester NED ruled the show with the ranks 1 and 2 and moved up on rank 5 overall. Brenda Bowskill CAN remains on rank 4.
Man of the day in the Men's Radials was Eliot Merceron SUI with the ranks 1 and 2 advancing on rank 7 overall. Marcin Rudawski POL has taken the overall lead one point in front of Maxime Mazard FRA on 2nd. Alfonso Fernandez ESP descended on rank 3.

 Laser Radial - Men's & Women's World Championship 2017 - Medemblik NED - Day 2, Brenda Bowskill CAN 4th, Erika Reineke USA 37th Light winds prevailed also on the second day of the Laser Radial-Worlds on the Ijssel-Meer, allowing to complete two races.
The Olympic Medalist Evi Van Acker BEL has taken the overall lead in the women's with the day ranks 3 and 9. Manami Doi JPN follows on 2nd with a 4 points' backlog. Cristina Pujol ESP moved up on rank 3 at equal points with Brenda Bowskill CAN on 4th. Comeback of the Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED after the failed first day. As best of the day, she advanced on rank 24 overall. The best USA helmswoman Erika Reineke USA is not yet up to speed and remains on rank 37 as fourth-best North American.
In the men's category, Axel Rahm SWE is new on rank 1 jointly with Daniil Krutskikh RUS at equal points. Alfonso Fernandez ESP on the 3rd place is only one point back. As best of the day (1/2), the multiple Radial World Champion Marcin Rudawski POL advanced on rank 4. Julian Soto USA is 32nd

 Laser Radial - Men's & Women's World Championship 2017 - Medemblik NED - Start today with USA and CAN delegations Back-to-back of the Laser Radial Youth Worlds, the World Championships of the Olympic Laser Radial Women's and the Radial Men are on the program. 100 women from 39 nations and 4 continents are on the entry list, among them the top favorite and Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED on her home waters. 63 participants from 26 nations and 5 continents are on the Radial men entry list.
