F50-Catamaran - Sail GP - Final - Marseille FRA - Victory and Prize Money for Team Australia, Team USA 6th and last

 F50-Catamaran - Sail GP - Final - Marseille FRA - Victory and Prize Money for Team Australia, Team USA 6th and last Yesterday in Marseille FRA, Tom Slingsby AUS and his 'Australia SailGP Team' defeated Nathan Outteridge AUS and his 'Japan SailGP Team' in the Grand Final of the the inaugural season of the event. Slingsby won the much disputed final 10-minute matchrace to secure the Trophy and the US$-one-million prize money. Except the New York SailGP event, Slingsby AUS was on top of all ranking lists. ------ Winners in the crucial duels of the four teams not qualified for the final match were 'Team China' as 3rd ahead of 'Team GBR' on 4th, as well as 'Team France' as 5th letting 'Team USA' behind on 6th. ------ In half-a-year, the second SailGP season will be kicked-off on Sydney Harbour AUS. ----- The report.

F50-Catamaran - Sail GP - Final - Marseille FRA - Day 2, first race win for China, USA fighting for 5th today

Moderate winds prevailed yesterday and the F50 Foiler Catamarans had to fight to keep the racers flying during the three races. For the first time this year, 'Team China' with Phil Robertson NZL finished first in a race. Now tied on points with 'Team Great Britain' with Dylan Fletcher GBR on the Season Leaderboard, the fight for rank 3 overall will be exciting in the two races of today. 'Team Japan' with Nathan Outteridge AUS and 'Team Australia' with Tom Slingsby AUS were the other winners yesterday. The two teams will duel today with a 10-minute race deciding the overall SailGP Champion and winner of $US 1 million dollars. The boats that have not qualified for the match racing final will sail two fleet races with tight duels for 3rd and 4th (GBR and CHN), as well as 5th and 6th (USA and FRA), ahead of the historic showdown between Slingsby and Outteridge. ----- The daily news.
