Finn - Goldcup 2019 - Melbourne AUS - Final results, Josh Junior NZL World Champion, Tom Ramshaw CAN 8th, Luke Muller USA 17th

 Finn - Goldcup 2019 - Melbourne AUS - Final results, Josh Junior NZL World Champion, Tom Ramshaw CAN 8th, Luke Muller USA 17th In a fresh 20kn plus wind, the Finn World Championship, i.e. the Gold Cup, was concluded in Melbourne this morning UTC with the Medal Race and the sail-off race for the rest of the fleet. ----- Josh Junior NZL controlled the situation finishing 7th and grasping his first title. Silver went to Nicholas Heiner NED closely followed by the defending champion Zsombor Beresz HUN. Winner of the Medal Race was Jack Lilley AUS finishing 5th overall and earning the Oceania Continental Olympic berth for Australia. Tom Ramshaw CAN terminated the Championship on the excellent 8th place. ----- On rank 9 followed Juan Cardona ESP as winner of the U23 title, Luke Muller USA on rank 17 earned Bronze in the U23 classifications. The 2016 Olympic Bronze medalist Caleb Paine USA remained on the 25th place. ----- The ranking list and the event facebook page with the final report, the photos and videos.

 Finn - Goldcup 2019 - Melbourne AUS - Day 5, Josh Junior NZL about to win the title, Tom Ramshaw qualified for Medal Race Josh Junior NZL defended his lead in the last two Finn Worlds qualification races held this morning UTC in a moderate seabreeze, and with a 16 point lead, he will no doubt celebrate the title after the Medal Race of tomorrow. Nicholas Heiner NED and Beresz Zsombor HUN follow on the ranks 2 and 3. Giles Scott GBR only 2 points behind a Medal will fight for Silver or Bronze as well. ----- Tom Ramshaw CAN on rank 7 easily made the Medal Race cut. Luke Muller USA, rank 20 and Caleb Paine USA, rank 24, will finish the Championship in a sail-off race. ----- Today is the hottest day of the year in Melbourne with 43°C (109°F) !  Finn - Goldcup 2019 - Melbourne AUS - Day 2, Josh Junior NZL dominates, Tom Ramshaw CAN on rank 7, Luke Muller USA 15th The second race of today Tuesday has just been finished (8h UTC) in Melbourne with the second race win of Josh Junior NZL, the superior first after four races with a 14 point lead on Nenad Bugarin CRO constantly in the top ranks.  Finn - Goldcup 2019 - Melbourne AUS - Day 2, Zsombor HUN wins race 3 The first race of the Finn Worlds in Melbourne of today Tuesday was completed at 6 a.m. UTC with the defending World Champion Beresz Zsombor HUN as winner after a rather mediocre first day, bringing him on rank 9 overall. Josh Junior NZL remains on top with a 5th race rank. ----- Tom Ramshaw CAN remains on 8th, Luke Muller USA is on 18th and Caleb Paine USA on 24th. ----- The second race of the day is underway. ----- The ranking list and the event facebook page.  Finn - Goldcup 2019 - Melbourne AUS - Day 1, ranks 1 and 2 for NZL, Ramshaw CAN best North American on 7th Day one of the 2019 Finn Goldcup in Melbourne AUS, the Class World Championship, has just been concluded this morning (7.15h UTC) with two races sailed in light winds around 9kn, both won by NZL sailors taking the interim ranks one and two. ----- Andy Maloney NZL is on the first place tied with Josh Junior NZL. 4 points behind follows Nenad Bugarin CRO.  Finn - Goldcup 2019 - Melbourne AUS, with five North American participants The Finn World Championship in Melbourne began this morning UTC with the Practice Race, and as always, only a few completed the full course. Here the list of finishers. ------ 63 participants from 24 nations, among them the Defending Champion Beresz Zsombor HUN and Olympic Champion Giles Scott GBR. ----- North America is represented by two CAN and three USA Finn sailors, among them Caleb Paine, 2016 Olympic Bronze. ----- The Championship races will begin tomorrow morning UTC, and we endeveour to post the results without delay in our daily morning news. ----- The official preview.
