 Laser Radial - World Championships 2020 - Melbourne AUS - Final results - Gold for Marit Bouwmeester NED, Tokyo Olympia ticket for Paige Railey, Clearwater, FL. Paige Railey USA made everything clear finishing 9th in the difficult light wind race this morning UTC, shaking up the ranking list, together with the second discard result in effect. As 14th overall, she is the winner of the USST Olympic trials, ahead of Erika Reinecke, rank 26th overall, and Charlotte Rose 36th. Sarah Douglas CAN had one of her better days as 12th that kept her on rank 27 overall. ----- The Final Results of all North Americans and the latest update of the US Sailing Team Report. --------------------------- The Laser Radial World Champion 2020 is Marit Bouwmeester NED, inspite of mediocre results in the last three races that made her almost loose the big advantage after five consecutive bullets. Her team mate Maxim Jonker NED finished 5th in the last race and was not far from reducing the backlog remaining at 2 points, earning Silver.  Laser Radial - World Championships 2020 - Melbourne AUS - Day 5, Bouwmeester NED dominates, USST trials fully open After the three Goldfleet races of this morning UTC, sailed again in fresh winds, Erika Reinecke and Paige Railey are tied on the ranks 21 and 22, while Charlotte Rose, the leader of the trials 3 points ahead of Paige and 12 points of Erika, remained on rank 32. Three races are left for tomorrow and nothing has been decided yet, as the announced light 8-10kn wind and above all the second discard race (up to now 28 Reineke, 27 Railey, 37 Rose) might revert the situation. ----- Bad day (ranks 26/51/32) for Sarah Douglas CAN on rank 27. ----- The Results of all North Americans and the latest update of the US Sailing Team Report. --------------------- The overall rankings are dominated by Marit Bouwmeester NED, booking her 5th bullet in 9 races, and extending her lead on Line Flem-Höst NOR new on 2nd on 24 points before the three final races of tomorrow.  Laser Radial - World Championships 2020 - Melbourne AUS - Day 4, Reinecke and Railey, ranks 17 and 20, now best NorAms After two light-wind days, the wind situation changed substatially at the Laser Radial Worlds in Sandringham AUS with thunderstorms yesterday and 16-18kn wind today Wednesday. ----- Erika Reinecke USA, 5 points ahead of Paige Railey USA, both with top-10 race results, kept the pace with the best and remained on the ranks 17 and 20 overall. The so far best North American Sarah Douglas CAN however dived from rank 8 to 21 after the 4 races sailed in a fresh breeze. Charlotte Rose USA was not quite at ease either and is now on rank 28 with 25 points and more behind her team mates competing for the Olympic spot. ----- Three CAN and a USA woman will continue the Championship in the Silverfleet as from tomorrow. ----- The Results of all North Americans and the latest update of the US Sailing Team Report. ------------------------- The fresher breeze was the preferred turf for the Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED, winning the races 3 to 6 and taking the overall lead 10 points ahead of Emma Plaesschart BEL on 2nd, one point ahead of Anne-Marie Rindom DEN 3rd who was also in difficulites in the stronger winds. ----- The Qualification Series have now been concluded and the top-half of the fleet, cut at rank 53, will continue the Championship in the Goldfleet, the other half in the Silverfleet. ----- The results. ----- The Radial Men completed only one race with Daniel Krutskikh RUS still on top.  Laser Radial/RS:X-Windsurf - World Championship 2020 - Melbourne AUS - Sarah Douglas CAN now on 6th, Charlotte Rose USA coming strongly from behind Again, only one race this morning UTC in Sandringham AUS, this time in rough thunderstorm conditions, and Sarah Douglas CAN added another top result bringing her on rank 6 overall. Best of the US Sailing Team today was the young Charlotte Rose finishing 4th in her group and climbing up 23 ranks on 31st. Considering a discard, she would be the top US athlete after three races. Erika Reinecke, rank 18, progressed slightly, while Paige Railey remained on rank 27. ----- The Results of all North Americans and the latest update of the US Sailing Team Report. ----------------------- Annelise Murphy IRL and Marit Bouwmeester NED were the day winners in their groups. Thanks to a 2nd race rank, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN has taken the overall lead in the Radial women one point ahead of Marit Bouwmeester NED. Maud Jayet SUI, rank 6 today, lost the overall first place, but remains as 3rd overall in the top trio with a 3 point backlog. ----- In the Radial men, Daniel Krutskikh RUS extended his lead after three races on 15 points ahead of Michael Compton AUS.  Laser Radial - World Championships 2020 - Melbourne AUS - Day 2, Jayet SUI new leader, Douglas CAN 9th Finishing 8th in her Group, Sarah Douglas CAN now on rank 9 defended her top-10 position in the only race of the day. On the way up and separated by one point only are Erika Reineke USA 25th and Paige Railey USA (rank 4 today) on the 30th place.  Laser Radial - World Championships 2020 - Melbourne AUS - Day 1, one race only, mixed North American results Mixed feelings with the North Americans after the only race of the Laser Radial World Championship in Sandringham AUS this Sunday morning UTC ! The CAN team performed reasonably well with the ranks 5 (Sarah Douglas) and 9 (Coralie Vittecoq) in their 55 boat groups, both preceding the US Sailing Team Olympia candidates finishing on the ranks 17 (Erika Reinecke), 27 (Paige Railey) and 39 (Charlotte Rose). ----- The updated overall results of all North Americans and the Report of the US Sailing Team. --------------- Winners of the day in the Olympic Radial Women fleet, split in two groups, were Marie Barrué FRA and the defending champion Anne-Marie Rindom DEN. On rank 3 follow Maud Jayet SUI and Vasileia Karachaliou GRE.  Laser Radial - World Championship 2020 - Melbourne AUS, with five USA and four CAN women The Laser Radial World Championship 2020 in Sandringham AUS was kicked-off this morning UTC with the Practice Race. With the Olympic Regatta beginning end of July, the complete international elite except the Chinese are present. Among others, the three Rio Olympic medalists Marit Bouwmeester NED, Annalise Murphy IRL and Anne-Marie Rindom DEN are on the entry list with 110 participants from 41 nations. ----- Charlotte Rose, Paige Railey and Erika Reinecke will fight for the 2020 Olympic ticket in the five women US Sailing team.----- Sarah Douglas is the clear leader among the four Canadian women. ----- The preview. ----- In the Radial men, 69 boats from 11 nations are present.
