RS:X-Windsurfer - World Championship 2020 - Sorrento AUS - Final results - Twice gold for NED, Pedro Pascual (West Palm Beach, FL), and Farrah Hall (Annapolis, MD.) grasp Olympic tickets
Kiran Badloe NED and Lilian De Geus NED are the RS:X Windsurfing World Champions 2020 after the Medal Races held in Sorrento AUS, Port Phillip Bay this morning UTC. ------ Badloe defended his lead over the Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED who won the Medal Race and reduced the backlog on 2 points. Thomas Goyard FRA earned the Bronze Medal. ----- Pedro Pascual USA moved on rank 33 ahead of Geronimo Nores USA finishing as 34th. In the Olympic Tokyo trials, Pascual is herewith clearly ahead earning the ticket. Ignacio Berenguer MEX is 52nd. ------. The RS:X men ranking list. ----- In the RS:X women, Lilian De Geus NED won the duel against Noy Driham ISR. Finishing 2nd in the Medal Race, Charline Picon FRA replaced the Israeli on rank 2. ------ The North American women are on the ranks 33 (Mariana Aguilar Chavez Peon MEX), 35 (Farrah Hall USA), 36 (Nicola Girke CAN) and 42 (Olivia Mew CAN 42nd). Three Final Races were held at the RS:X Worlds in Sorrento AUS this morning UTC. With a mixed day - ranks 28/2/27, Geronimo Nores USA moved slightly up on rank 24, as second-best U21 surfer. Pedro Pascual USA remains on rank 32. The RS:X Windsurfing World Championship begins today in Sorrento AUS with the practice race. In addtion to the Championship title, Oceania is racing for an Olympic berth, and in both fleets, AUS and NZL will duel for this slot. Important windsurfing nations such as FRA, ISR, NED or POL will select their athletes for the 2020 Tokyo games, as do the USA with Pedro Pascual and Geronimo Nores on the entry list.
