J/70, Melges 20, L30, Longtze, H22, Smeralda - Primo Cup - Monaco MON - Day 2, Whittemore USA now 4th

Mikhail Sheremetov RUS and his team defended the first place in the J/70. Nelson Mettraux SUI and his team advanced on rank 2, Giangiacomo Serena MON is now on 3rd. Keith Whittemore USA had a bad day (rank 26) and descended on rank 4 overall. ----- Jonas Gerckens BEL and his team are up on rank one in the L30. ----- Jarmo Wieland SUI and his team extended their lead in the Longtzes with a race win. ----- Only very light winds prevailed off Monaco yesterday and just one race per class could be completed in a 5kn breeze. ----- All ranking lists, the daily news and the video of the day.

Finishing all three races on the 2nd rank, Mikhail Sheremeteov RUS and his team have taken the lead in the J/70s ahead of Keith Whittemore USA. Nelson Mettraux SUI follows on rank 3. A very competitive 65 boat fleet is present, attracted by the fact that 2020 J/70 World Championship will be held in fall at the same venue. ----- In the first international event of the L30 keelboat, candidate to become the two-person-mixed offshore Olympic class, the only woman in the small fleet - Anastasia Kolesnichenko GBR with her team - has taken the lead. ----- Jarmo Wieland SUI and his team dominated the Longtze fleet. ----- Three races per class were completed on day one of the Monaco Primo-Cup, held in sun and a perfect 10-15kn breeze yesterday. -----All ranking lists, the news and the video of the day.

 J/70, Melges 20, L30, Longtze - Primo-Cup - Monaco MON, J/70 with US boats The traditional Monaco Primo-Cup lasting until next Sunday begins today with tune-up races. ----- The by far largest class are the J70s with 61 boats from 14 nations, including the USA. ----- The L30, favored (?) by World Sailing as possible Olympic Offshore-Mixed-two-person Keelboat, will be promoted for the first time in a race, but with full teams. 8 teams from 7 nations, including Luka Rodion UKR, Olympia medalist and designer of the L30, as well as a team from Japan and South Korea are present. ----- The composition of the fleets and the favorites of the other classes are clearly dominated by specific nations: Melges 20 (RUS), Longtze (SUI), Smeralda (MON) and H22 (ITA). ----- All entry lists and the preview.
