 18 Footer - JJ Giltinan Trophy - Sydney AUS - Races 3 The rainy autumn storms in Sydney have also made it into the main headlines of the daily media. At least one of the two races could be sailed today. With up to 28kn wind, there was again a spectacular race today with numerous capsizes. 'Andoo' with Seve Jarvin AUS were the only ones to make it through without swim - their third win in a row. Nothing new on rank 2: 'Tech 2' with Jack Macartney AUS is still in the race, but lost by 2min10sec today. Report and ranking should be available soon on the event-website. The video of the day (race starts at 1:08:00) with its drone footage showing the acrobatics of the crews at 25kn from close up is again well worth watching today.

 18 Footer - JJ Giltinan Trophy - Sydney AUS - Races 5 & 6, SMEG leading after two Nils of tech2 After the disqualification in race 2 the day before yesterday, the top favorite tech2 of Jack Macartney and his team, bound to complete the nine-race regatta without any further possible ‘discard’ score, was forced to retire from Race 4 yesterday after colliding with another competitor shortly after the start. ----- In moderate winds, heats 5 and 6 of the 18-footer World Championship were sailed in Sydney this morning - see www.sailing-new.us for the replay of our live coverage - and tech2 tried to recover with 2 heat wins after they had to retire 2 times already in the first 4 heats. ----- In the overall standings, SMEG with Michael Coxon AUS leads by 9 points over Yandoo Winning with John Winning jr AUS. 2 points behind in 3rd place follows Bird & Bear with James Dorron AUS. ----- The ranking and the reports.

 18 Footer - JJ Giltinan Trophy - Sydney AUS - Day 2, TECH2 winning the first two races The 18-footer World Championship started yesterday with a race held in a 16-18 knots breeze with 'tech2' of Jack Mccartney AUS winning a drag race. Race 2 held this Sunday morning UTC is already finished (see LIVE broadcast on www.sailing-news.us ), again with 'tech2' on top, clearly leading overall ahead of 'Finport' with Keegan York AUS in 2nd place with a 3rd and 4th. ----- The day 1 report.

 18 Footer - JJ Giltinan Trophy - Sydney AUS - Invitational Race, the tune-up to the Championship The JJ Giltinan Trophy, the 18-footer world championship, began this morning with the Invitational Race, the official training race. However, due to Corona restrictions, it is an all-Australian affair this year, with the defending champions from New Zealand unable to travel.
