Etchells - World Championship 2023 - Miami FL, USA - Day 4

An intense day for the 62 teams of the Etchells World Championships. Yesterday, 3 races were sailed, which changed the ranking significantly. Before today's final races, the first 10 teams all still have a chance to win a medal! The 470 Olympic silver medalist in 1984 (!) Stephen Benjamin USA and his team are leading 9 points ahead of John Sommi USA and Jim Cunningham USA. The ranking and the daily-report.

In 12-15n seabreeze, the Etchells World Championship continued with two races yesterday on Biscayne Bay. ----- Best of the day with ranks 1/8, John Sommi USA (with 470 Olympic champion Will Ryan AUS), moved to the top. 15 points behind, Peter Duncan USA (with Mark Mendelblatt USA) and Jay Cross USA (with Taylor Canfield ISV) share second place. ----- The rankings and the daily report.

After the cancelation of races on the start day due to thunderstorms, there were classic Miami conditions yesterday with around 15kn of wind and sun, and two races could be sailed. ----- Luke Lawrence CAN and his team took the lead with 2nd and 3rd place, ahead of Stephen Benjamin USA one point behind.  Etchells - World Championship 2023 - Miami FL, USA - First races today The World Championship of the Etchells begins today in Miami - the 3-person keelboat was designed for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, but lost out to the Soling in the selection. In the Anglo-Saxon countries, the Etchells continue to be very popular. Again, the starting list is full of of big names again: Malcom Page AUS, Luis Doreste ESP, Eric Doyle USA, Phil Trinter USA, Adam Minoprio NZL, Taylor Canfield ISV or Stephen Benjamin USA... - at the start are 63 teams from 9 nations.
