Melges 24 - World Championship 2023 - Middelfart DEN - Day 4

With light winds at first, later increasing, the Melges 24 World Championship continued yesterday with three races. Drew Freides USA and his team held on to the top spot, followed 7 points behind by Peter Duncan USA. Man of the day was Peter Karrié GER, who booked two race wins with his Italian team and moved up to 14th place. On today's final day there are 3 more races on the programme, the rush for the podium is great, even Chris Rast USA/SUI, who didn't get going yesterday, can still count on (small) chances for a medal in 6th place, 19 points behind 3rd place. Moth - World Championship 2023 - Weymouth GBR - Day 5

Yesterday, it remained flat in Weymouth, and only one race could be sailed, the 2nd of the blue group. After 5 days the fleet, divided into two halves, could only finish 2 races each! ----- With a second win of the day, Jacob Pye NZL took the lead. 4 points behind follow Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA, Jack Wetherell GBR and Simone Salva ITA sharing 2nd place on equal points. Kai Adolph GER moved up to 5th place with a 4th place in his heat. Jann Schüpbach SUI finished 17th again and is thus the best Swiss in the overall ranking as 26th. With Linus Rindsfüsser SUI in 46th place and Aymeric Blin SUI in 53rd place, two more Swiss are ranked in the top half of the ranking list of 128 participants. ----- The ranking list and the Facebook page.

Moth - World Championship 2023 - Weymouth GBR - Day 4

After three races sailed on Wednesday with initially good winds, later dropping, it was again windless in Weymouth yesterday. ----- Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA, James Wetherell GBR and Simone Salva ITA lead the fleet after two races with equal points. The second half of the fleet could only finish one race, won by Jacob Pye NZL ahead of Philipp Buhl GER. Linus Rindsfüsser SUI is the only Swiss to have already completed 2 races, and he follows in 26th place. In the other half of the fleet, Jann Schüpbach SUI achieved the best result with a 17th place. ----- The results and the Facebook page.

Moth - UK National Championship - Weymouth GBR - Final results

In the run-up to the Moth World Championships starting on Sunday, the English Championship was held over the past two days. After 6 races, Jacob Pye NZL won by one point over ILCA 7 Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS. Juan Cardona ESP followed in 3rd place, ILCA World Champion Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA (interviewed here in Interview) was 4th. Best Swiss was Jann Schüpbach SUI in 47th place out of 95 competitors.
