 Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - Final day - Silber für Maud Jayet SUI ! With the Medal Races of the ILCAs, the joint World Championships of all Olympic classes came to an end in The Hague yesterday. Calm winds and tidal currents made for difficult conditions. ----- In a thrilling race, Maud Jayet SUI in ILCA 6 missed the big coup after taking a penalty turn for pumping, but secured the Vice World Champion title as last year. Gold went to Maria Erdi HUN, and behind Jayet SUI, the Olympic winner Anne-Marie Rincom DEN took the bronze medal. ----- In the men's event, Matthew Wearn AUS was the early winner, with silver and bronze going to Michael Beckett GBR and George Gautrey NZL. ----- The rankings and the daily-report.

Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - Day 9 - Maud Jayet SUI in Führung

On the second last day of the joint World Championships of all Olympic classes, there were best conditions with 12-15kn wind again. With ranks 3 and 13, Maud Jayet SUI continued her constant series in the ILCA 6 and took the lead. With a lead of 4 points over Olympic Champion Anne-Marie Rindom DEN and Maria Erdi HUN, who is tied on points, the Swiss goes into the Medal Race today (start 15h, we will broadcast live). Last year's runner-up in the World Championships has thus already secured an Olympic starting place for Switzerland (the fourth after 49er, Mixed 470, iQ-Foil windsurfers). In ILCA 7, Olympic champion Matthew Wearn AUS took the title even before the Medal Race: In a tough match race, he sailed the previously leading Michael Beckett GBR to the end of the fleet (ranks 65 and 66) in the last qualification race. The Englishman had already sailed his strike result with an early start in race 5 and has to count the 66 points in full, he dropped behind George Gautry NZL to rank 3. Defending champion Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA is 4th, 19 points behind 3rd place, he remains without a medal. In the final of the Kiteboard Men's Medal Race, Max Maeder SGP celebrated his first World Championship title as a 16-year-old with two race wins. Toni Vodisek SLO and Axel Mazella FRA took the other medals. In the women's event, Lauriane Nolot FRA also won the Medal Race, Eleanor Aldridge GBR and Lily Young GBR came in second and third. In the iQ-Foil windsurfing event, Luuc Van Opzeeland NED was already the new World Champion before the Medal Race. Sebastian Kördel GER took silver, Nicolo Renna ITA was 3rd. In the women's windsurfing there was an Israeli double victory by Shahar Tibi ISR and Katy Spychakov ISR, Emma Wilson GBR, who had been leading all week, had to settle for bronze. Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - Day 8 - Schneiter/ De Planta SUI Silver Medal

A lack of wind prevented most races in The Hague yesterday. Only the Medal Race of the 49er could be sailed. ----- Bart Lambriex/Floris Van de Werken NED were already confirmed as world champions - their third world championship title in a row! In the duel for silver, Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI won against Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP. Here is the Medal Race video. ----- The Medal Race of the 49erFX had to be cancelled. Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE won superiorly ahead of Odile Van Aanholt/Annette Duetz NED and Olivia Price/Evie Haseldine AUS. ----- A nerve-wracking wait for wind for Elia Colombo SUI, who just managed to secure the last Olympic starting place in 21st place (12th nation, with France not counting as an organiser). ----- Today, the Medal Races of the Kite- and Windsurfers and the last qualification regattas of the ILCA are on the program. With the Medal Races of the Nacra 17 and the 470, the first competitions came to an end yesterday. ----- Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA won again in the Nacra 17 and defended their World Championship title with a 26-point lead. John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR took silver, Emil Jarudd/Hanna Jonsson SWE were 3rd. ----- In the Mixed 470, Keiju Okada/Miho Yoshioka JPN were already the winners before the Medal Race. 36 points behind Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman ESP are 2nd, bronze went to Tetsuya Isozaki/Yurie Seki JPN. Lara Vadlau/Lukas Maehr AUT missed the podium by only 3 points. ----- Today the Medal Races of the 49er and 49erFX are scheduled. In the 49er Bart Lambriex/Floris Van de Werken NED are already the overall winners. Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP and 3 points behind Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI will fight for the silver medal. ----- In the 49erFX, Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE showed an outstanding series and are already the new World Champions with a lead of 36 points. Odile Van Aanholt/Anette Duetz NED moved up to 2nd, 4 points behind Olivia Price/Evie Haseldine AUS 3rd. In 12th place, two-time Olympic gold medallists Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA surprisingly missed out on the Medal Race. ----- The ILCAs finish their final races today with 2 more races. Michael Beckett GBR continues to lead in ILCA 7 with now 11 points ahead of Matthew Wearn AUS, George Gautrey NZL has moved up to rank 3. ----- In the ILCA 6, Emma Plaesschart BEL has taken the lead one point ahead of Maria Erdi HUN. Maud Jayet SUI in 3rd place 7 points behind remains in the title race. ----- In the iQ-Foil windsurfers, Nicolo Renna ITA leads 11 points ahead of Sebastian Kördel GER. Elia Colombo SUI dropped back to 21st place after a false start and a disqualification. ----- Emma Wilson GBR is also 11 points ahead of Shahar Tibi ISR in the women's race. ----- In the men's Formula Kite, Toni Vodisek SLO is still one point ahead of Max Maeder SGP, with Riccardo Pianosi ITA now in third place.  Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - Day 6 - Gold for NED, SWE and JPN In the 49er, 49erFX and Mixed 470 the new World Champions are already decided before today's Medal Races: ----- Bart Lambriex/Floris Van de Werken NED extended their lead in the 49er to 26 points with the day's ranks 1/1/3 and can no longer be caught in the Medal Race - their 3rd World Championship title in a row ! Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP on 2nd are only 3 points ahead of Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI. ----- With a lead of 36 points Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE were in a class of their own in the 49erFX and are the new World Champions. Odile Van Aanholt/Annette Duetz NED and 4 points behind Olivia Price/Evie Haseldine AUS will decide the other medals today. Olympic winners Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA are 12th, missing out on the Medal Race. ----- Keiju Okada/Miho Yoshioka JPN are the new World Champions in the Mixed 470 with a lead of 38 points. It will be exciting behind them: The ranks 2 to 6 are only 7 points apart. Axel Mazella FRA is third 5 points behind. Bruce Kessler SUI is now 30th (18th nation). ----- No changes in the women's race: Lauriane Nolot FRA now leads by 4 points over Eleanor Aldridge GBR, Lily Young GBR has moved up to 3rd place, just ahead of Leonie Meyer GER. ----- Despite an early start, Michael Beckett GBR extended his lead to 15 points in the ILCA 7.  Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - Day 6 - The Swiss Yesterday, the first classes finished their World Championships with the last final regattas, and only the Medal Races are still to come. ----- Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI, who not only qualified for Marseille 24 in 3rd place in the 49er, but also sail for the silver medal in the Medal Race today! ----- In the final race, Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI also managed to secure a starting place in the Mixed 470 in 12th place as the 8th nation. ----- Also on course for the Olympics is Maud Jayet SUI as 7th in the ILCA 6. ----- Elia Colombo SUI is close behind in iQ-Foil Windsurf. ----- All rankings and the report of the Swiss team.

Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - Day 5

Sunshine and around 15 knots of wind again provided optimal conditions in The Hague yesterday. There were four races each for the iQ-Foil windsurfers. ----- Luuc Van Opzeeland NED took the lead 4 points ahead of Nicolo Renna ITA. Sebastian Kördel GER dropped back to 3rd. Elia Colombo SUI is also doing well in 13th place. ----- In the women's race, Emma Wilson GBR is leading ahead of Hélène Noesmoen FRA. ----- In Formula Kite, Max Maeder SGP leads ahead of Toni Vodisek SLO and Axel Mazella FRA. In the women's fleet, Lauriane Nolot FRA has taken the lead with 3 race wins. Elena Lengwiler SUI is excellent 16th (11.Nation) and thus in the middle of the race for an Olympic starting place. ----- In the ILCA 7, Michael Beckett GBR has moved to the top. Pavlos Kontides CYP and Philipp Buhl GER are the first pursuers. Gauthier Verhulst SUI has dropped back to 80th position. ----- The ILCA 6 did not come into action with the wind disappearing. Maria Erdi HUN leads by one point over Carolina Albana ITA, Anja Von Allmen SUI is an excellent 10th. Maud Jayet SUI in 23rd is also on Goldfleet course. ----- In the 49er, Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP have taken the lead. Only 0.2 points behind, the favorites Bart Lambriex/Florian Van de Werken NED have moved up to rank 2. New on rank 3 are James Peters/Fynn Sterritt GBR. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI remain in the titel race in 4th. ----- In the 49erFX, Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE are now leading 35 points ahead of Olivia Price/Evie Haseldine AUS. In 15th place, two-time Olympic winners Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA will have to improve today to be in the Medal Race. ----- In the Mixed 470, Keiju Okada/Miho Joshioka JPN have extended their lead to 23 points. Simon Diesch/Anna Markfort GER follow on rank 2. With two 7th places, Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SU could keep their chances of qualifying for the Medal Race: the 3 last qualification races are scheduled today. Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - Day 3

With 12-16kn wind, racing continued in The Hague yesterday. The two skiff classes and the Nacra catamarans completed their qualifications for Gold and Silverfleet with races 7-9. The ILCAs were in action for the first time, and the 470s had their first rest day. ----- In the ILCA 7, Tonci Stipanovic CRO won both races of his group, and Michael Beckett GBR follows in 2nd place with 1/3 on the day. Gauthier Verhulst SUI is in 67th place of the 138 participants. ----- In the ILCA 6, Maria Erdi HUN and Carolina Albano ITA are tied for the lead. Anja Von Allmen SUI started best of the Swiss with ranks 15 and 7, and she is 16th of the 109 participants. Maud Jayet SUI had a hard time and is 30th. ----- No changes in the Nacra 17: Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA have now won 8 of the 9 races ! Paul Kohlhoff/Alica Stuhlemmer GER and John Gimson Anna Burnett GBR continue to hold positions 2 and 3, while Andrea Aschieri/Anja Camusso SUI are now 42nd. In the 49er, Bart Lambriex/Floris Van de Werken NED defended rank one, but Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP moved up to 2 points. With the ranks 1/2/6 in their group, Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI were again among the best of the day and moved up to 4th place, only 12 points behind. As 42nd, Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI will sail in the Silverfleet as of today. ----- In the 49erFX, Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE extended their lead to 15 points. In fresh winds on the second day of the Olympic World Championships, the experienced teams moved forward: ----- First and foremost - as always - Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA in the Nacra-17, who further extended their lead with the day ranks 1/2/1. Paul Kohlhoff/Alica Stuhlemmer GER moved up to 2nd place. In their first season in the class, The Swiss teams continue to struggle with the rough conditions extremely demanding for foiler catamarans. ----- In the 49er, the favorites Bart Lambriex/Floris Van de Werken NED moved up to the top with two race wins, followed by Lukasz Przbytek/Jacek Piasecki POL on rank 2, 4 points behind. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI moved up to rank 6. Joshua Richner/Nio Schärer SUI on 34th are still within reach of the Goldfleet. ----- Vilma Bobek/Rebecca Netzler SWE won three races in the 49erFX, and they are now 6 points ahead of Isaura Maenhaut/Anouk Geurts BEL. ----- In the mixed 470, Keiju Okada/Miho Yoshioka JPN extended their lead to 10 points with another race win. Anton Dahlberg/Lovisa Karlsson SWE moved up to 2nd place. Simon Diesch/Anna Markfort GER improved on rank 3. Moderate winds, first around 10kn, later freshening up to 15kn, and strong tidal current characterised the first day of the joint World Championships of the Olympic classes. 49er, 49erFX and the Nacra-17 catamarans each completed 3 races, for the mixed 470s there were two races. With first and fourth place on the day, Keiju Okada/Miho Yoshioka JPN took the lead in the 470, 3 points ahead of Wenjun Deng/Jingsa Wang CHN. Outstanding were the Japanese women with three teams in the top 6. With ranks of the day 7 and 11, Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI are 11th (8th nation), directly behind them on rank 12 are Malte and Anastasiya Winkel GER. Linda Fahrni/Cyril Schüpbach SUI follow on rank 31 of the 64 teams. In the 49er, Nevin Snow/Max Agnese USA and Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP won 2 races each in their group. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI also got off to a good start and are in 9th place with 3rd/3rd/4th place on the day. Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI even had a race win, they are 39th of the 84 teams. In the 49erFX, three teams share the lead: Isaura Maenhaut/Anouk Goerts BEL, Vilma Bobeck/Rebecca Netzler SWE and Olivia Price/Evie Haseldine AUS each with 1/2 ranks. In the Nacra 17, Olympic champions Ruggero Tita/Caerina Banti ITA won all 3 races in their group, with Paul Kohlhoff/Alica Stuhlemmer GER following in second with two race wins. The two Swiss teams Andrea Aschieri/Anja Camusso SUI and Axel Grandjean/Noëmi Fehlmann SUI struggled. All rankings and the daily report.

2.4m, Hansa 303, RS Venture - World Championship 2023 - Ten Hague NED - Day 1

Together with the Olympic classes, the 'Paralympic classes' 2.4m, Hansa 303 and the RS Venture also sail their World Championships in The Hague. Heiko Kröger GER won both races of the 2.4m, Peter Cichocki POL in the men's and Betsy Allison USA in the women's lead the Hansa 303. In the RS Venture, the new 2-person keelboat, Ange Margaron/Olivier Ducruix FRA lead, with Daniel Amiguet/Philippe Echivard SUI following 2 points behind in third place of the 16 teams.  Olympic Classes - World Championship 2023 - The Hague NED - First races today The joint World Championships of the ten Olympic classes start today in The Hague, where the first Olympic Nations starting places will be awarded. First up today are the 49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 and Mixed 470. The fleets are appropriately top seeded, and unlike the Olympic regattas, multiple competitors per nation are allowed - all entry lists. The official-preview presents the favourites per class. For Switzerland, Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI and Joshua Richner/Nilo Schärer SUI will start today in the 49er, Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI, Linda Fahrni/Cyril Schüpbach SUI in the 470 and Axel Grandjean/Noëmi Fehlmann SUI and Andrea Aschieri/Anja Camusso SUI in the Nacra 17. For an Olympic starting place, qualification for the Medal Race is mandatory in these three classes. The preview of the Swiss Team. Medium winds around 14kn are expected to dominate the action today.
