 Trophee Jules Verne Day 23
The first 24 hours of 'Spindrift' (Yann Guichard FRA, Dona Bertarelli SUI) on the Pacific Ocean proved to be difficult, as light and unconstant winds forced them to go North. 'Banque Populaire' with Loîck Peyron FRA profited from fresh winds way down South during her record ride three years ago. The backlog of 'Spindrift' has therefore grown again on 134 miles, and 'IDEC' (Francis Joyon FRA) on 'IDEC', sailing on a more Southern course, is now only 28 miles behind 'Spindrift'. However, 'IDEC' had to veer North as well to remain in fresher winds.
The News of 'Spindrift' and of 'IDEC'.
