Olympic Worldcup 2016 - Semaine Olympique - Hyères FRA - Day 2

After the windy first day, there were moderate conditions on Hyères Bay yesterday with a 8-12 kn wind.
Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS proved once more to be the best allrounders in the 470 men's fleet and won again one of the two races. They lead overall with a 3 points' advance on Fantela/Marenic CRO. On rank 3 follows the surprise team Cinar/Cinar TUR. Best of the day in the 470 women were Hannah Mills/Saskia Clarke GBR who replaced Aleh/Powrie NZL on rank 1 with the same number of points. Lecointre/Defrance FRA moved up on rank 3.
The 49er FX, not sailing on the opening day, completed four races yesterday. Lisa Ericson/Hanna Klinga SWE realized two race wins and ar the first leaders in front of Bekkering/Duetz NED 2nd and Steyaert/Compan FRA 3rd. Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL extended their lead in the 49ers, but Philipps/Philipps AUS kept contact with the leaders. The 3rd-ranked Warrer/Lübeck DEN and Pink/Bithell GBR at equal points are already 24 points behind.
Jake Lilley AUS replaced Josh Junior NZL on top of the Finns with two race wins. Oliver Twedell AUS and Caleb Paine USA follow on rank 3 with the same number of points. New on top of the Nacra 17 are Fernando Echevarri/Tara Pacheco ESP, but the key favorites Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA are already on rank 2.
Pawel Tarnowski POL defended his lead in the RS:X men windsurfers. New names however on the ranks 2 and 3 with Nick Dempsey GBR and Pierre Le Coq FRA. In the RS:X women windsurfers, Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL is the new leader ahead of Bryony Shaw GBR and Marina Alabau ESP.
