Around the World Record - Trophée Jules Verne - Day 6 - first record for 'Spindrift'
Tuesday, January 22, 2019
After only 4 days and 20 hours, Yann Guichard FRA and his team crossed the Equator, the first "checkpoint" of their round-the-globe record attempt. The next mark to be measured will be the Cape of Good Hope. Admittedly, the St-Helena anticyclone over the South Atlantic will force the Maxi-Trimaran to a deviation going West, but with the existing favorable wind condition, 'Spindrift' will most probably stay on a record pace. This morning UTC, the advantage on the existing record of 'IDEC' was already 393nm.
