 Olympic Classes  Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta  El Arenal ESP  Day 1, with USA and CAN participation, ranks 2 and 3 for US Lasers Radial
As a tune-up to the Trofeo Princesa Sofia to be held in Palma de Mallorca end of March, the numerous international teams already on site joined yesterday for the traditional Training-Center Regattas. Three (two for the Finns) races were completed in moderated winds.
The World Champion Berecz Zsombor HUN has taken the overall lead in the Finns with the day ranks 1 and 2 ahead of Nils Theuninck SUI, the winner of race 2.
In the 470 men, Pavel Sozykin/Denis Gribanov RUS are first followed by Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP. Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI are on 3rd overall. Stuart McNay/Dave Hughes USA are 9th. Clear leaders in the 470 women are Luisa and Helene Wanser GER ahead of Amy Seabright/Anna Carpenter GBR and Ai Kondo/Miho Yoshioka JPN. Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA are 14th.
On top of the Lasers Radial is Maria Erdi HUN ahead of Paige Railey USA and Erika Reineke USA . In the Lasers Standard, Giovanni Coccoluto ITA occupies rank 1 in front of Kuba Rodzin POL 2 points back. Hugh MacRea CAN is 20th, Marek Zaleski USA 38th.
In the 49ers, the World Champions Sime Fantela/Mihovil Fantela CRO and Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR share the lead at equal points. One point behind follows a tied trio with Sylvan/Anjemarke SWE, Schmidt/Böhme GER and Fischer/Graf GER. Mollerus/Mollerus USA are 25th, Jones/Depaul CAN 28th.
Evan DEPAULIn the 49ersFX, Klara Wester/Rebacca Netzler SWE have a 12 point lead over Tamara Echegoyen/Paula Barcelo ESP.
In the Nacra 17, Ben Saxton/Nikki Boniface GBR are already 10 points in front of Marie Soler/Hugues Puimatto FRA.
The RS:X men windsurfers have Angel Granda ESP on first followed by Shahar Zubari ISR. Pedro Pascual USA is 21st. In the RS:X women windsurfers, the Olympic Champion Charline Picon FRA is on top with Emma Wilson GBR and Katy Spychakov ISR as first challengers.
