Today, the Mini Transat is probably entering a decisive phase: the Minis who have chosen the direct route are still in the lead, but the conditions there have now become very slack. The attackers in the south are almost twice as fast and will probably move up to the top in the next 24 hours. ----- New on first in the Series Minis this morning UCT is Melwin Fink GER, 9 miles ahead of Léo Debiesse FRA. Half a mile behind, Brieuc Lebec FRA has dropped back to 3rd. ----- François Champion FRA defended the top spot in the Protos, but he is only half as fast as the competition this morning with 4.7kn. For the time being, he is still 58 miles and more ahead. New in second place is Jay Thompson USA.
