On Sunday, nine teams of two started in Tangier for the Globe 40, the first round-the-world regatta of the Class 40. The race leads around the globe in 8 legs, the first stop is on Cape Verde, the second leg then leads to Mauritius. The fleet has already reached the trade winds after two days and passed the Canary Islands last night. Masa Suzuki/Koji Nakagawa JPN lead with 79 miles ahead of Frans Budel/Ysbrandt Endt NED. Micah Davis/Brian Harris USA are 120 miles back in 3rd. The race tracker and the reports.
