J/70 - Youth Champions League - Travemünde GER - Final results
The inaugural Youth Champions League Regatta was concluded yesterday with a reduced program, as calms infringed the competition before the best four teams sailed the Final Round to determine the overall winner whoever had 2 wins. The Royal Danish YC with Nikolai Baekgaard DEN winner of the Qualifikation Series with a one-win-bonus, was not good enough to finish first overall, as in a close battle, the Danes were defeated in the second Final race by a few meters. The BYC Überlingen Lake Constance GER with Konstantin Seidle GER won two Final heats winning overall. The RC Oberhofen SUI with Nick Zeltner SUI finished on the good 6 final rank, the Zürcher YC SUI followed on rank 10 among the 18 teams.

Most classes remained without valid results on the final day of the Travemünde Week due to too light winds. Only the F18-catamarans l continued racing. Justus Wolf/Maximilian Said GER finished as overall winners after 10 races with a 2 points' advantage on Steve Stroebel/Matt Morris USA. The local favorites and 20-fold Week winners Helge and Christian Sach GER remained 3rd.
The joint German/Dutch 5.5mIJ Championship in Travemünde was concluded yesterday with another three races. Finishing twice as first, Mark Holowesko BAH/Christoph Burger SUI/Peter Vlasov BAH were the premature winners leaving out the final race. Bad luck for Jürg Menzi SUI and his team, missing the start to the first race and penalised with another non discardable 18 points, they were relegated on the 4th place overall inspite of ranks 2 and 1 yesterday. Piet van Opzeeland NED and Arnd Jan Pasman NED with their teams completed the podium.
Yesterday, the well-attended Laser Youth Championships were concluded in Travemünde.
After the first half of the Travemunde week was characterized by light winds, the wind strengthened to 20 knots yesterday. This did not prevent Mark Holowesko BAH and his team to continue his successful series with the daily ranks 1/2/1. Jürg Menzi SUI remains in second place, 6 points behind. The
The change of the conditions, with strong winds for the first time, caused some movement in the rankings. At the German youth championship of the Laser 4.7 Mewes Wieduwild GER was not deterred at all and won both races. His lead is 32 points now and he will secure the title today. On the other hand, in the Laser Radial, Leader Mathias Peitzner GER lost some of his lead, with Julian Hoffmann GER closing in to just 4 points ahead of today's final day. In the F18-Cat Steve Stroebel/Matt Morris USA are still leading. At the Vaurien World Championship all three medals will go to Spain: Franco Zampacavallo/Carlos Frances ESP are now 14 points ahead of Antonio Perez/Laura Llopiz ESP, who won all three races yesterday. Yesterday at the Travemuender Woche the 5.5ers started their competition. On the first day of the German championship three races were be sailed. The first leader is Mark Holowesko BAH, followed by Jürg Menzi SUI and his team in second place 3 points back. At the start are 17 teams from 7 nations from 3 continents. The
