49er & 49erFX - Junior World Championship - Marseille FRA - Final Day, with medium results of NorAm teams
A fresh Mistral wind prevailed again on the last day of the Skiff Junior Worlds on the Gulf of Marseille. While the 49er Goldfleet held two more races, the 49er Silverfleet and the 49erFX heats were cancelled.Keanu Preitner/Niklas Haberl AUT won therefore the Open title in the FX with a 10 points' lead on Wilma Bobeck/Malin Tengström SWE, who grasped the Women's title. After excellent first races and early leaders, Lucy Wilmot/Nathan Housberg USA finished finally on the 12th place overall.
In the 49ers, Robert Dickson/Shaun Waddilove IRL won another race and defended their first place overall. As best of the day (1/5), Max Stingele/Linov Scheel GER advanced on rank 2 ahead of Daniel Nyborg/Sebastian Olsen DEN on 3rd at equal points. Not racing in the fresh Mistral, Harry Melges/Finn Rowe USA remain 29th, Dylan Jones/Jonathan Kelly CAN 45th among the 52 teams.

Apparently, there was not enough wind for the 470 Junior Worlds Medal Races yesterday on Lake Bracciano ITA, as the Saturday results on the website remained unchanged.
Fresher winds of up to 15kn prevailed yesterday for the first time during the last three Qualification Series races to select the 10 best for today's Medal Races.
After the unplanned lay day on Thursday, the wind hesitated to fill in yesterday as well, but late in the afternoon, 2 races per fleet could be completed.
Late ... and too little wind on Lake Bracciano ITA yesterday and racing was cancelled for the day.
A moderate thermal breeze prevailed also yesterday on Lake Bracciano with a thunderstorm filling in in the late afternoon. Both fleets completed two races.
The 470 Junior Worlds on Lake Bracciano (Rome) began yesterday in moderate 11kn winds, but after one race, the boats had do go ashore as a thunderstorm was approaching.
The 470 Junior World Championship begins today on the Lago di Bracciano, the drinking water reservoir of Rome, situated in the mountains behind the Italian Capital with usually a good thermal breeze around 12-15kn. 28 female teams from 11 nations adn 4 continents are enrolled with France, Italy and Israel as favorites. Missing are the Spanish team, normally among the best world-wide in the 470s. Madeleine Rice/Laura Slovensky represent the USA.
