Medium winds prevaled yesterday at the Medemblik Regatta with the Musto Skiffs and Windfoils joining the competition, a hard day for the RS:X riders racing on traditional and on foiling boards. ----- During the morning, Kiran Badloe NEDextended his lead in the RS:X men on 19 points. In the afternoon, he won all three races in the Windfoil Surfers. The traditional multi-class Medemblik Regatta launched in 1985 begins today with the first races, with a less Olympic touch compared to previous years, due to the ever increasing number of similar or class events this year. Only the RS:X windsurfers are present with important fleets led by the Dutch World Champions Liliane De Geus NED and Dorian Van Rjsselberge NED. To be noted, that Foil Kiteboarder and Foil Windsurfer (Windfoiler) fleets participate for the first time - with many riders racing in the non-foil fleets as well - and attract a special interest. ----- All entry lists.
