AC-75 - Prada Christmas Race - Auckland NZL - Day 4 - Prada Christmas Race abandoned
This Sunday morning UTC, decreasing winds prevented a decision in the one-day Prada Christmas Race in Auckland. In the first duel of the day, only 'Team NZL' managed initially to lift off in the very light winds. For 'INEOS Team Britannia', the breeze was too light for foiling, and Ben Ainslie and his team were even lapped. But the match had finally to be abandoned as 'Team NZL' missed the time limit (45min) by less than a minute, and consequently, the remaining races were canceled as well. The Prada Christmas Race remains therefore without a winner. ----- As reported yesterday, on top of the three-day double Round Robin AC World Series was 'Team NZL' ahead of 'American Magic' and 'Luna Rossa'. ----- The report.
This Saturday morning UTC, the Round Robin of the World Series was completed with two races. 'Team New Zealand' won twice and closes this first part in first place with 5-1 wins. 'American Magic' (4-2), Prada (3-3), and INEOS (0-6) follow behind. In tomorrow's semifinals, 'New Zealand' will face 'INEOS', and 'American Magic' will sail against 'Prada'.
