Moderate and very inconsistent winds characterised the second day of the Gold Cup. ----- After his victory in the first race, Lawrie Smith GBR and his team were again in the lead after the second upwind yesterday, but after a collision in the dense pack around the buoy, they suffered a broken mast through no fault of their own. Michael Zankel GER inherited the race win, Lawrie Smith GBR received redress from the jury and thus continues to lead the classification.
