ILCA 6 & 7 - U21 World Championship - Viana do Castelo POR - Day 5

With 12-16kn the Seabreeze was a little weaker yesterday than before, again 2 races were sailed. Ahead of today's final day, Eve McMahon IRL is now leading the ILCA 6 with a 14-point lead. Roos Wind NED and 2 points behind her Evie Saunders AUS will decide the other medals among themselves. Viktorija Jedlinska SUI is now 21st. In the ILCA 7 it remains exciting: Theodor Middelthon NOR has taken the lead, followed by Anatol Sassi ITA just 3 points behind. Boris Hirsch SUI has improved to 70th place in the Goildfleet. ILCA 6 & 7 - U21 World Championship - Viana do Castelo POR - Day 4

Yesterday, the wind was up to 21 knots in Portugal, and the big breeze specialists once again dominated the day's two races. ----- The ILCA 6 fleet continues to be led by Eve McMahon IRL, followed by Roos Wind NED in second place 10 points behind, Evie Saunders AUS is now third, and Viktorjia Jedlinska SUI follows in 22nd place out of the 80 participants. ----- Still close together is the top of the ILCA 7: Enrico Tanferna ITA has regained the lead from Anatol Sassi ITA ... with a one-point advantage. Theodor Middelthon NOR follows a further point behind. Boris Hirsch SUI is 77th. ----- All rankings and the daily report.

Also yesterday sun and seabreeze between 12 and 18 knots, again both fleets sailed two races each. Anatol Sassi ITA took the lead in ILCA 7, with Enrico Tanferna ITA and Theodor Middelthon NOR sharing 2nd place just one point behind. Boris Hirsch SUI is now in 78th place in the Goldfleet. Eve McMahon IRL has extended her lead in ILCA 6 to 6 points. Evie Saunders AUS and Roos Wind NED continue to hold 2nd and 3rd place, followed by Viktorjia Jedlinska SUI in 20th place of the 80 participants. The ranking lists and the daily report.

ILCA 6 & 7 - U21 World Championship - Viana do Castelo POR - Day 2

Yesterday was another sunny day with a good seabreeze of around 15 knots, again 2 races were sailed. New at the top of the ILCA 6 is Evie Saunders AUS, who won both races of the day. Eve McMahon IRL is one point behind in 2nd place, followed by Ginevra Caracciolo ITA and Carlotta Rizardi ITA in 3rd place. Viktorija Jedlinska SUI is still doing well in 16th place out of the 80 participants. In the ILCA 7, Enrico Tanferna ITA leads with one point ahead of Anatol Sassi ITA, followed by Theodor Middlethon NOR in 3rd place. The best Swiss is still Boris Hirsch SUI, now in 77th place. ILCA 6 & 7 - U21 World Championship - Viana do Castelo POR - Day 1

The U21 World Championships of the two Olympic ILCA classes began yesterday in winds that initially reached 12 knots and later increased to 18 knots. ----- Eve McMahon IRL won both races in the ILCA 6 and leads by 4 points ahead of Eve Saunders AUS, and Roos Wind NED follows in 3rd place. Viktorija Jedlinska SUI is 18th of the 80 participants. ----- Theodor Middelthon NOR and Anatol Sassi ITA are tied for the lead in the ILCA 7. Boris Hirsch SUI is the best Swiss of the 154 participants in 66th place. ----- The ranking list and the report.

ILCA 6 & 7 - U21 World Championship - Viana do Castelo POR - First races today

 ILCA 6 & 7 - U21 World Championship  - Viana do Castelo POR - First races today After last week's ILCA 4 World Championships, the U21 Olympic ILCA World Championships begin today on the Portuguese Atlantic coast. At the start 80 women from 33 nations, including Viktorija Jedlinska SUI. In the men's event, 155 participants from 42 nations and 5 continents will be competing. Boris Hirsch SUI, Eliott Raison SUI and Lenny Züger SUI are representing Switzerland - the entry lists and the Facebook page.
