Optimist - Palamos Trophy - Palamos ESP - Final results

There was again no wind for further races on the final day of the Palamos Trophy. ----- After a total of just 3 races, Jesper Karlson ITA - who had already won the European Championship bronze medal in 2024 - finished first with a one-point lead over Francesco Colotto ITA and Huges Willot FRA tied on points. Clara Zunquin FRA was the best girl in 5th place. The best Swiss was Aston Muntmark SUI in 14th place, followed by Eivinn Löfteröd SUI in 23rd, Teo Filliger SUI in 32nd, Tommaso Magnetti SUI in 34th and Ivan Salikov SUI in 41st. 533 participants from 33 nations took part. ----- There was a Swiss victory in the raffle: Alina Durrer SUI won the main prize, a brand new Winner-Optimist! ----- The ranking list and the report.

Optimist - Palamos Trophy - Palamos ESP - Day 3

There was no wind yesterday in Palamos, and no further races could be sailed. This means that the final series scheduled for today has been canceled. ----- After the 3 races sailed so far, Jesper Karlson ITA leads by one point ahead of Francesco Colotto ITA, and Hugues Willot FRA tied on points. Clara Zunquin FRA is the best girl in 5th place, followed by the best Swiss Aston Muntmark SUI in 14th place. Today's wind forecast is light again, and an early start at 9.30 am is planned. If a 4th race can be sailed today, the cancellation result will be activated, which will significantly change the classification. It remains exciting, also in the Swiss World Championship selection. Optimist - Palamos Trophy - Palamos ESP - Day 2

In light winds, the fleet, divided into 5 groups, could only complete one race after a lengthy postponement of the start. The qualifications for the final regattas therefore continue today. ----- Jesper Karlsson ITA took the lead with a race win in his group, and one point behind, Francesco Colotto ITA and Hugues Willot FRA share 2nd place. Clara Zunquin FRA is the best girl in 5th place. Thanks to a 5th place in his group, Aston Muntmark SUI moved to 14th place, and Eivinn Löfteröd SUI dropped back to 23rd place. Numerous early starts shook the rankings: Stijn Oosterhaven ESP, the leader after the start day, dropped back to 157th, while Tim Baile SUI, the best Swiss after the start day in 8th place, is now 164th. Teo Filliger SUI (32nd place), Tomaso Magnetti SUI (34th place), Ivan Salikov SUI (41st place), Lena Müller SUI (58th place), Giorgio Bolgiani SUI (83rd place), Alina Durrer SUi (96th place), Lou Eisenhut (96th place) and Adrian Koller SUI (103rd place) remain on course for the gold fleet. Optimist - Palamos Trophy - Palamos ESP - Day 1

The Palamos Trophy began yesterday with two races in light winds of around 8 knots. The fleet of 533 participants was divided into 5 groups. ----- Vita Erceg CRO (sailing for the Swiss DRC Sisikon) and Stijn Osterhaven ESP share 1st and 2nd place respectively. It is a good start also for the Swiss: Tom Baile SUI is 6th, Eivinn Löfteröd SUI follows in 8th place, and Aston Muntmark SUI is 20th. 9 more Swiss are classified in the top 105 and thus on course for gold.
