Starboat Class European Championship 2025 - Viareggio ITA - Day one

The Star European Championship 2025 got underway yesterday off Viareggio, with two races sailed in light and tricky conditions. ----- In the first race held in a westerly breeze of 7–8 knots, Tonci Stipanovic CRO (Laser Olympic Silver 2016 and 2020) with Tudor Bilic CRO had the upper hand. In a wind settling to 6 to 7 knots, Paul Cayard/George Iverson USA won the second race, capitalizing on every shift. Ranking 3 and 2, the locals Enrico Chieffi/Nando Colannino ITA took the overall lead on the opening day. The best of the four Swiss were Piet Eckert and Federico Melo SUI, ranked 13th. ----- The results and the event website.
