Seven USA boats - in the 49ersFX, the Lasers Standard and Radial and the Nacra-17 - are in the top-10 after day one of the Trofeo Princesa Sofia Regatta on Palma Bay ESP.

„Anna is back“, crewing for the young Paris Henken on the physically demanding 49erFX, Anna Tunnicliffe Tobias, World Sailor of the Year, Olympic and multiple World Champion, is on the 6th place in the 49ersFX after three races, one point behind the Olympic Champions Grael/Kuntze BRA. With Stephanie Roble/Margaret Shea USA on 7th, a second USA team is in the top-10.
In the Lasers Radial, another former World Sailor of the Year and multiple World Champion - Paige Railey USA - on rank 10 is among the best. However, the day in the class was for Erika Reineke staying on the excellent 3rd place after two races.
With a solid first day performance are Charlie Buckingham on 6th and Christopher Barnard on 10th after the two Laser Standard Races.
Top result in the Nacra-17 as well but not by the favoriite pair Gulari/Chaffee (27th) but Riley Gibbs/Anna Weis on the excellent 5th place.

The seabreeze filled in late on the first race day of the 2019 Trofeo Princesa Sofia on Palma Bay. Five of the 10 classes finished two, the 49ersFX and the Nacras even three races in a 10-12kn wind, while the 49ers and both RS:X windsurfer fleets remained withou valid results.
In the 470 men, Xammar/Rodriguez ESP have taken the lead ahead of Okada/Hokazono JPN and Machetti/Dantes FRA. In the 470 women, Mills/McIntyre GBR are on first followed by Berta/ Caruso ITA and Lecointre/Retornaz FRA.
Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR are on rank 1 of the 49ersFX in front of Natasha Bryant/Annie Wilmot AUS and the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA.
Shared is the lead in the Finns with Alican Kaynar TUR and Ed Wright GBR, followed by Andrew Maloney NZL one point back.
With two race wins in their Nacra-17 groups, Paul Kohlhoff/Alica Stuhlemmer GER and Gemma Jones/Jason Saunders NZL are first at equal points.
Herrmann Tomasgaard NOR is the first leader in the huge 187-boat Laser Standard fleet, split in four groups, with the day ranks 1 and 2 in his group. Finn Lynch IRL and Filip Jurisic CRO follow on the ranks 2 and 3. The Laser legend Robert Scheidt BRA is 20th, the World Champion Pavlos Kontides CYP ist 28th and the Olympic Silver medalist even only 48th. The top Laser sailors from downunder are not present.
In the Lasers Radial, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN finished first in both heats of her group and is on top ahead of Dongshuang Zheng CHN and Erika Reineke USA on 2nd and 3rd. The Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED, ranks 12 and 1, is on 6th overall.
