F50-Catamaran - Sail GP - Final - Marseille FRA - Day 2
Sunday, September 22, 2019
Moderate winds prevailed yesterday and the F50 Foiler Catamarans had to fight to keep the racers flying during the three races. For the first time this year, 'Team China' with Phil Robertson NZL finished first in a race. Now tied on points with 'Team Great Britain' with Dylan Fletcher GBR on the Season Leaderboard, the fight for rank 3 overall will be exciting in the two races of today. 'Team Japan' with Nathan Outteridge AUS and 'Team Australia' with Tom Slingsby AUS were the other winners yesterday. The two teams will duel today with a 10-minute race deciding the overall SailGP Champion and winner of $US 1 million dollars. The boats that have not qualified for the match racing final will sail two fleet races with tight duels for 3rd and 4th (GBR and CHN), as well as 5th and 6th (USA and FRA), ahead of the historic showdown between Slingsby and Outteridge. ----- The daily news.
