IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2016/17 - Day 15

Best Northwind conditions, about 25 kn, are still prevailing and the leader group is chasing down South direction Cape of Good Hope at high speeds. This breeze should last for another four days according to the forecasts, and this would mean a new Start-to-Cape-record, to the most southern point of Africa. Inspite of a damaged foil-daggerboard, Alex Thompson GBR ('Hugo Boss') maintained his advantage with 85 miles. Armel Le Cléac'h FRA ('Banque Populaire') and Sébastien Josse FRA ('Edmond de Rothschild') remain the first challengers.
