Last night Charles Caudrelier FRA reached the finish in Point-à-Pitre FRA with his 'Edmond de Rothschild' after 6 days and 19 hours, improving the record by 17 hours. François Gabart FRA (SVR Lazartigue) was 2nd, 7 hours behind, and Thomas Coville FRA (Sodebo) also reached Guadeloupe tonight. Excitement remains in the Open 60: After a difficult passage of the high pressure wedge, the leading group has now reached the trade winds. With good speeds of up to 20 knots, the run towards Guadeloupe now follows. Charlie Dalin FRA (Apivia) continues to lead with now 21 miles ahead of Thomas Ruyant FRA (LinkedOut), Jérémy Beyou FRA (Charal) follows 50 miles behind in 3rd place. Justine Mettraux SUI (TeamWork) has been able to reduce her gap to 105 miles and is in 6th place ! Alan Roura SUI (Hublot) is still 18th, his gap is 564 miles. The Class 40 still has the traverse of the flat high pressure wedge ahead of them. Yoann Richomme FRA (Paprec-Arkea) continues to lead with now 34 miles ahead of Xavier Macaire (Groupe SNEF) and Corentin Douget FRA (Queguiner-Innoveo).
