IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2024 - Les Sables d'Olonne FRA - Day 83

Saturday, February 1, 2025
A great reception for Benjamin Dutroux FRA yesterday in his hometown of Les Sables d'Olonne. Now it's Clarisse Cremer FRA's turn this afternoon. Both had to move to La Rochelle after their finish in the stormy conditions. Next, Romain Attanasio FRA ('Fortinet/Best Western') will reach the finish tomorrow in 14th place, with 384 miles still missing this morning. Behind him in the chasing group, it remains exciting: 750 miles from the finish, Damien Séguin FRA leads with just 16 miles ahead of Benjamin Ferré FRA. Another 9 miles behind is Alan Roura SUI 17th. In the non-foiler race, Benjamin Ferré FRA on 14th is also being chased by Tanguy Le Turquais FRA (28 miles behind), Jean Le Cam FRA (120 miles behind) and Conrad Coleman NZL (150 miles behind). Oliver Heer SUI[/URL] prepared for today's equator crossing with a shower yesterday. He is still 30th, but will soon overtake Arnaud Boissières FRA, who is trying to reach the Caribbean on a kite after breaking his mast. Only then will it be decided whether he can make a jury rig to get him to the finish - outside help is not allowed - the report. 140 miles behind Oli Heer SUI follows Jungkun Xu CHN, who used the moderate conditions for more videos. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
