Light winds for the first finals of the Kite-Foil and iQ-Foil windsurfers yesterday: Riccardo Pianosi ITA managed to oust the previously dominant Max Maeder SGP from the top spot in the Kite Men's final with 2 wins. Gian Stragiotti SUI was the Swiss highlight in Hyères in 3rd place. There were no changes in the women's kite category: Wan Li CHN won ahead of Jingyue Chen CHN and Lautiane Nolot FRA. Grae Morris AUS and Tamar Steinberg ISR won the iQ foil windsurfer. There was also an early decision yesterday in the 470s: Simon Diesch/Anna Markfort GER extended their lead to 21 points with another race win and can no longer be caught in the Medal Race. Jordi Xammar/Marta Cardona ESP and Giacomo Ferrari/Alessandra Dubbini ITA complete the podium.
In the 49er, Hernan Umpierre/Fernando Dix URU go into todays medal race with a 3-point lead over Nevin Snow/Ian McDiarmid USA. Richard Schultheiss/Fabian Rieger GER follow 12 points behind. Joshua Richner/Corne Janssen SUI finish the series in 29th place, followed by Pablo Rüegge/Finn Meichle SUI in 46th of the 67 teams. In the 49erFX, Isaura Maenhaut/Anouk Goerts BEL moved back into the lead, their advantage over Lara Granier/Amélie Riou FRA is 12 points. In the ILCA 6, Charlotte Rose goes into the final with a 3-point lead over Chiara Benini ITA. Rosine Baudet SUI finishes the series in 7th place in the Silverfleet (=44 Overall). In the ILCA 7 Nicholas Halliday HKG remains in the lead, Duko Bos NED and Thomas Saunders NZL follow narrowly behind. Boris Hirsch SUI finished 15th in the Silverfleet (=44 overall). In the Nacra 17, John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR go into the Medal Race with a 7-point lead over Gianluigi Ugolini/Maria Giubilai ITA. All rankings and the report.
