Optimist - World Championship 2025 - Portoroz SLO - Day three

On the third day of the Optimist World Championships in Portoroz, the wind, ranging from 6 to 8 knots, provided good conditions for the first race of the day across all four fleets. However, shortly after the start of the first fleet's second race, the wind dropped significantly, forcing the race committee to abandon the race. After an hour of waiting, it became clear that the wind would not return, and the sailors headed back to shore. ----- Olha Lubianska UKR leads the rankings, three points ahead of the tied Manuel Orleans Braganca BRA and Georgios Karnavas GRE. The point differences between the following boats are minimal. ----- The best Swiss sailor is still Tim Baile in 60th place. Top sailors from major English-speaking nations are Pablo Munoz Montes USA 6th, Jake Dickey NZL 11th, Walter Heeley AUS 25th, Charles Holland GBR 39th, William Keilty CAN 70th, and Maeve Donagh IRL 73rd. ----- With today’s completed race, the qualifications - 5 races are required - have successfully been concluded. ----- Today and tomorrow, Team Racing is scheduled.
