Lay day yesterday in Dubai, at least on the water. The action was in the Jury Room where the winner of leg 5 'El Moudj Muscat' was disqualified for passing a forbidden zone. The same verdict was also expressed for the all-female team 'DB Schenker'. With this Jury decision, the Arabian Sailing Tour has been decided before today's InPort Races in favor of 'EFG Bank Monaco' with Mathieu Richard FRA. 'Bienne Voile' with Lorenz Müller SUI ranked 7th yesterday has now 'did-not-finish' in the classifications.

The Arabia Sailing Tour is in its final phase with all five legs completed. Yesterday, the 8 teams finished the final race from Doha to Dubai, are enjoying a lay day today, and will conclude the competition tomorrow with the final InPort races.

Yesterday, leg 4 of the Arabian Sailing Tour - split in two semi-legs due to the unplanned interruption - was concluded yesterday. Yesterday evening, the wind stopped completely and the proximity to an oil field with much coastal traffic provoked Race Management to interrupt the race. The 8 teams started at 5.30 UTC this morning to the 4th leg of the Arabian Sailing Tour from Abu Dhabi to Doha 160 nm away. A 10 kn rear wind is pushing the fleet at good speeds. The 8 boats' Farr 30 fleet was still underway this morning in light and unconstant winds with 30 nm to go to Abu Dhabi. And again, the two favorites 'EFG Bank Monaco' with Mathieu Richard FRA and 'Al Moudj Muscat' with Christian Ponthieu FRA separated by one mile only are in the lead.

After yesterday's layday, the start to leg 3 of the Arabia Tour from Khasab to Abu Dhabi was given this morning, just a short coastal race passing Dubai. As always, the race tracker and the live ticker inform on the race situation.

Leg 2 of the Sailing Arabia Regatta, sailed in very light winds, was concluded yesterday with the favorites 'EFG Bank Monaco' of Mathieu Richard FRA as winner ahead of the Osmani 'El Moud Muscat' with Christian Ponthieu FRA. The all-women 'DB Schenker' team sailing under German flag finished 5th and moved up on rank 6 overall. Today is lay day.

The 8 Farr 30 are still underway this morning UTC on the second leg of the Arabian Tour. The whole fleet completely stalled several times in the calms during the night. 25 nm were left this morning and the fleet is still closely together. Only 7 nm separate the leading 'Al Mouj Muscat' with Christian Ponthieu FRA and the backmarker 'Bienne Voile' with Lorenz Müller SUI.

The finish of leg one of the Arabian Tour 2017 yesterday was very much disputed and 'Team Renaissance' with Fahad Al Hasni OMN had finally the upper hand. 'EFG Bank Monaco' and the Omani-French 'Team Al Mouj Muscat' with Christian Ponthieu FRA finished on the ranks 2 and 3.
