International Classes - Kiel Week, Part 2 - Kiel GER - Day 3

Also in Part 2 of the Kiel Week, dedicated mainly to the Olympic Classes, there are International Classes racing.
With 121 teams from 14 nations, the 420s have once more an impressive fleet on the starting line. Daniel Göttlich/Linus Klasen GER won all four races in their group. Eduard Ferrer/Carlos de Maqua ESP follow with 3 race wins on rank 2. Telis Athanasopoulos/Dimitrios Tassios GRE are 3rd.
In the J/70s, Gordon Nickel GER is first after 3 races.
The Melges 24 sail another Round of their European Sailing Series, and Stephan Gründler GER and his team are on rank 1 after 3 races.

International Classes, 2.4 mIJ - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results, Dee Smith USA 2nd

 International Classes, 2.4 mIJ - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results, Dee Smith USA 2nd The International Classes concluded the 2017 Kiel Week yesterday with more light-wind races. We reported during the past days.
Here in addition the results of the 2.4m IJ yachts with Heiko Kröger GER as clear winner 13 points ahead of Dee Smith USA. Daniel Bina CZE was 3rd. 28 boats from 13 nations and 3 continents participated in this tune-up race to the World Championship at the same venue.

International Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results

 International Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results The International Classes concluded the 2017 Kiel Week yesterday with more light-wind races. As from today, the Olympic Classes will be underway with top sailors such as Robert Scheidt BRA (49er) or Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS (470).
On the final day, a leader change happened in the 29er Eurocup rankings: Benjamin Jaffrezic/Léo Chauvel FRA replaced Théo Revil/Gautier Guevel FRA on top. Aristide Giroud/Noah Chauvin FRA made the all-French podium in the 93 teams'/13 nations' fleet complete.
Winner in the Lasers 4.7 was Tobias Birkeland NOR with Johan Schubert DEN and Julia Rogalska POL on the ranks 2 and 3.
No change in the 5o5er rankings. Jörgen and Jacob Bojsen-Möller DEN were the clear winners ahead of Boite/Fountaine FRA and Hunger/Kleiner GER.

International Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 3

 International Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 3 Moderate winds prevailed again yesterday on the Kiel Bay, but nevertheless, most classes completed the full daily program.
The Lasers 4.7 sailded their first three Final regattas split in a Gold- and Silverfleet. Tobias Birkeland NOR is the new leader ahead of Johan Schubert DEN. Félix Baudet SUI did not start to the second race and dropped on the 3rd place overall, but with the ranks 1 and 4, he confirmed that he is still a valid contender for the title.
In the 5o5s, the FD Olympic Medalists 1988/1992, Jörgen and Jacob Bojsen-Möller DEN, are on the way to their first 5o5 Kiel Week victory, this in addition to their 14 (!) Flying Dutchman wins. Boite/Fountaine FRA are already 14 points back. .
In the 29er-Euro-Cup, Théo Revil/Gautier Guevel FRA extended their advantage on 14 points. Rok Verderber/Klemen Semelbauer SLO remain the first challengers.
Today is the final day for the International Classes. Tomorrow, the Olympic and the disabled-sailing classes (2.4m and Hanse 303) will begins with their races.

International Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2

 International Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 Sun and moderate winds again on day 2 of the International Classes' Kiel Week 2017, and the full program could be sailed.
Defending rank 1 in the Lasers 4,7 was Félix Baudet SUI, winning 4 of the 6 races in his Group. He shares the lead with the tied Julian Hoffmann GER, Johann Schubert DEN and Tobias Birkeland NOR. As from today, racing will continue split in a Gold- and Silverfleet.
In the 29er Europacup, Théo Revil/Gautier Guevel FRA have taken the lead 8 points ahead of Rok Verderber/Klemen Semelbauer SLO on rank 2.
In the 5o5s, Bojsen-Möller/Bojsen Möller DEN won again two heats and are now the clear overall leaders. 11 points ahead of Hunger/Kleiner GER. Hunger's 22nd Kiel Week victory is now far away.

 International Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 1 The Kiel Week 2017 began yesterday for the International Classes in sun and good wind conditions, allowing to complete the full program with 3 to 4 races by Class.
For the 29ers, the event is part of the Europacup, and after 4 heats, Mikolaj Staniul/Kajetan Jablonski POL are first 3 points ahead of Theo Revil/Gautier Guevel FRA.
Swiss is the lead in the Lasers 4.7 with Félix Baudet SUI at equal points with Julian Hoffmann GER.
In the 5o5s, the eternal duel between the well-known Kiel-Week winners goes on. First after three races are Böjsen-Möller/Böjsen-Möller DEN 3 points ahead of Hunger/Kleiner GER tied with Boite/Fountaine FRA.
