Dragon - European Championship 2017 - Thun SUI - Final results

 Dragon - European Championship 2017 - Thun SUI - Final results Sufficient wind to complete two races prevailed on the final day of the Dragon European Championship on Lake Thoune yesterday. With the fresher breeze and the discard in effect, the ranking list changed substantially.
The new European Champions are Petro Andrade POR/ Bernardo Torres POR/Charles Nankin BRA sailing under GER flag. Dimitri Samokhin RUS, winner of the Swiss Championship a week ago, advanced on rank 2. Jewgenij Braslavets UKR and his team, sailing under UAE flag (United Arab Emirates) earned Bronze. The previous leaders Markus Brennecke/Jochen Schümann/ Ingo Borowski GER dropped on rank 5 as best Germans among the 60 teams.

 Dragon - European Championship 2017 - Thun SUI - Day 2 The Lake Thoune afternoon thermal breeze did not fill in yesterday as well and only one race could be completed in a moderate down-valley wind in the morning. Going on the right side in the first upwind decided the race in favour of Pedro Andrade POR and his team. Markus Brennecke GER (with Jochen Schümann GER) followed on rank 2. Igor Goikhberg RUS finished 3rd. The best Swiss was Garlef Baum SUI on his local waters on rank 8.

 Dragon - European Championship 2017 - Thun SUI - Day 1 Very light and circling winds before an upcoming thunderstorm front did not allow to race yesterday at the Dragon European Championship on Lake Thoune and the 67 teams from 14 nations were back in the harbour without results by the end of the afternoon. The news.
The first start today has been scheduled for 7.30h UTC to benefit from the morning down-valley thermal breeze. Racing can be followed over GPS-tracking.

Dragon - European Championship 2017 - Thun SUI - first races today

 Dragon - European Championship 2017 - Thun SUI - first races today The first race of the Dragon European Championship will be started at 13 hrs UTC on Lake Thoune SUI. After the rainy Swiss Championship during the past week, sunny days have been forecast and the legendary thermal breeze shall hopefully be part of the competition.
64 teams from 11 nations are on the entry list. In addition to Dimitri Samokhin RUS, dominator of the Swiss Championship last week, the other Russian teams, some elite German teams as well as sailing under the UAE flag the former 470 Olympic Champion Jewgenij Braslavets UKR and Henrik Witzmann GER are the favorites for the podium. Among the prominent names present is also Jochen Schümann GER, ex-Alinghi and threefold Olympic Medalist.
